Default skeleton leaves

What's the best way to adhere skeleton leaves? I've tried a few things, but the adhesive always shows through.

I would use a xyron machine or full adhesive sheet.

I use the sticky dots. It works best if you put the dot on the paper and then lay the leaf onto it.

I used some photo mount (spray adhesive) that I had left over from college. It gives you just the right amount of sticky on the back and you can't see it. Kind of like magic mesh.

Make sure you lay down a lot of newspaper around where you're spraying though. That stuff does NOT come out of fabric. (speaking from experience  )
