Default HELP - before it dries!!

ok, I've spent almost all day trying to CASE one of princessink's cards. I'm almost done, but needed to change out one of her cardstock colors for some colored vellum. I just received my first ever crystal effects and thought I could use that to glue the vellum on. BUT, I can see the CE through the vellum!! Will it dry clear, or should I quickly take it off before ruining the card? Help!! :?

YIKES! I though CE was supposed to be THE vellum glue-er - ?

Ok, I pulled it off the rest of the card and think I've salvaged it - but now what do I use to glue the vellum?

A company other than our beloved SU makes a vellum adhesive that does not show. It works very well on white and light colored paper, however, I have found it doesn't always look so good on dark papers. I have found that creative gluing sometimes works well-using a glue pen where you have inked, or gluing only where the vellum will be covered over. If that is not the case for you, I realize you were in a hurry so this technique will have to wait until the next time you need it, the vellum adhesive is available from scrapbooking stores and other craft stores. Hope your project turned out okay.

Actually, THE glue technique seems to be either spray adhesive or running it through a Xyron sticker machine. Anything that doesn't cover the entire surface will usually show through vellum paper. Some folks here only use the SU! vellum cardstock because of the transparency issue with adhesives.

The glue sticks that SU! used to sell in a 3-pack don't show thru vellum--just checked the current catalog, and don't see them--but I think that the Anywhere Glue Stick (#104045) works the same way--I seem to recall something about that being mentioned at a demo meeting I was at (but don't quote me on that one--I don't have the AGS, so can't guarantee it's success for you first hand). Good luck!!

A great way to "affix" vellum without an adhesive showing through is with a brad or eyelet. EVERYTHING needs eyelets, don't you think ?

I ended up using my Xyron, which worked great. But yes, Lizzie, I LOVE eyelets (now to get SU to carry them in EVERY color!)
