Ok I was at a crop over the weekend and a fellow SU demo said she has a recipe for stampin' mist but...........it's her little secret. What is that about!? I hate people like that! LOL Why would she even bring it up.
Anyhoo anyone make there own stampin mist? Anyone care to share?!
Thanks A BUNCH!
Amanda

Just wanted to add that Ultra-clean rocks my world. It is so much better than Stampin' Mist and Staz-On cleaner! Get some ultra-clean and then accidentally spray her in the eyes at the next crop. lol
I use the recipe I found here on SCS. It is distilled water, baby wash and glycerin. I cannot find the amounts so I can't tell you. If you do a search for stamp cleaner you will probably find it. I have found that it works very well.

lmao...I agree that is so rude to even say something and then not tell!!!
I have never used rose water for stamps, but sometimes I use it in drinks or food (it is fabulous if you just add a little to iced tea!). I usually have best luck finding it at a middle eastern or indian grocery. Be careful not to buy "rose syrup" unless you want really sticky sweet tasting stamps

...I about spit out my diet Coke when I read that...cracked me up!!

I like the idea of putting rose water in it. I'm not a big fan of the smell in any of the stamp cleaners that I've tried.
I also agree that it's not nice to tell people that it's your secret recipe. Why tell them at all? It's just plain rude and unhelpfull to new stampers. Maybe she wants to sell more of the kind she's demoing instead but then agian why tell people that you make your own if your trying to sell it premade?

That is so funny, made me LOL.
Don't you just hate people that say "Oh, its a secret", GROW UP.....
Don't say anything at all. Its like "Oh, I know what your Christmas present is"
I think I'm going to spray these people now, hehehe

Are the Hero Arts Ultra Clean and the Stewart Superior Ultra Clean the same product? If not, which brand do you feel is superior? Is there any cleaner that takes the Stazon off of the wood portion of the stamp? I know, I know, stains on the wood show they are loved stamps, but I have some I am thinking of selling and it would be nice to have them all new and spiffy looking. Thanks in advance for your expertise.
Why would you keep a recipe for Stampin' Mist secret? I honestly rarely use it and have 3 bottles of it- two of them un-opened. I use baby wipes most of the time because they are quick and convenient. I don't have to pull out my Stampin' Scrub and wet one side and then wash it later. I save that for when I do a lot of stamping at a time (which isn't very often anymore).
I forgot about using baby wipes. I did use them once on my neighbors stamps. She picked up a set at a garage sale that was just destroyed. It looked like they weren't cleaned at all after they were used. But the wipes took everything off, even off the wood. Although, I am not sure what was used, I think it may have been some kind of paint.
There are SO many different "recipes" for stamp cleaner. I tried a few different ones until I found what works best for me. I take a 2 oz spray bottle, fill it about 1/4-1/3 full with Simple Green, fill the rest of the way with water, and add a couple drops of glycerin.
What one person likes, another might not. Plus we all use different inks. So I say experiment til you find the one that works best for you!
people who'd never give out my secret receipes...
My Grandma Betty Crocker would never allow it..And Grandma Costco
is very closed mouth too, but if I had a super duper secret stamp cleaner..
that might be a different story....
Hey Stampers!!! I have no idea how I got on this "thread", but I am interested in this "secret recipe". I currently use the SU mist stamp cleaner. So you think this stuff works better and is cheaper?? - Probably a very dumb question to most of you, but what and where do you find the "baby wash"?? Does it just say baby wash on it??? Obviously I have no kids - just my fuzzy pumpers!!! :>)
You can find baby wash in the baby section or soap section of any discount store. I bought the WalMart brand - Equate Tearless Baby Wash. The botttle I bought did say "Baby Wash" on it. There are other brands - Johnson&Johnson and Baby Magic. I bought the Equate brand because it was only 97cents for a 15 ounce bottle. All the ingrdients compared to the national brand for much less.
