Conventional Presentation w/ Demonstrator Barbie & UPS Ken
I read where at Convention there was a video or something with a Demonstrator Barbie waiting for UPS Ken. Does anyone who attended have this video they could post or tell me more? I am a huge Barbie collector too and would love to know more about this presentation. Sounded really cute.
TIA

It was a commercial for next year's convention if I remember correctly. After it played, Shelli came out and said "did you pay close attention?" and then told them to play it again. I think there were some sneak peaks in there about future products or patterns or maybe her signature line, but it went by so fast!
I did have a recording of it, but then remembered that they asked for no recording devices so I deleted it from my camera to honor SU's wishes....sorry! (I'm hoping it'll pop up on the website eventually!)

It was my favorite "commercial". Not sure about any sneak peaks but Shelli did point out that there was no date mentioned for next year's convention. I have heard it rumored that it is in August and that it is just not a finalized schedule yet. The commercial ended with "UPS Ken not included". It was just so darn cute. Lynn

Thanks for the full information. I do hope it will show up soon where we can "legally" view it.

I think the hint in it was for the UPS delivery, because right after that was when the doorbell on stage rang and the HOT UPS guy came on the stage!!

It was amazing how many products they incorporated into that scene. I'm sure there were plenty I missed.
And we were fortunate enough to be on the front row left and that HOT UPS guy was the one who gave us our stamps You can see him up close in the Convention gallery - uploaded by stampin' andrea.

I do have a video of the commercial, but I won't upload it anywhere (and it's killing me!!!) because I don't want to get SU in trouble with Mattel. As it is, I'm scared to death my video of the Tonic Sol-fa SU song is going to get yanked off of Youtube! LOL!
Anyway... I'm sorry that I can't post the Barbie video. It was great! If I can figure out a way to do it without getting SU in trouble, I will.

I was so hoping for a Stampin' Up Barbie. I'm a collector and it would be so neat to have one. Might have to see about a suggestion to SU for one.

Ok gals, I had a dream last night about Convention Attendee Barbie and UPS Ken. I dreamt that they are in the Holiday Mini and part of Shelli's exclusive line! I swear it was so real. My thought was, with SU being so big on copyright infrigement, I don't think they'd turn around and do the same thing to Mattel that's been done to them so many times. So, what if they partnered with Mattel to bring us these two dolls. Let's think about the numbers, how many demos world wide? Not to mention their kids and customers who are SU crazy? It could be a limited run. I know I'd buy them (especially Ken..LOL). A girl can dream, right?

You know, I think you might be right....lol...lol because it said, UPS Ken not included.... UPS doesn't do many things like that.... ex. no hot wheels cars, etc... Wouldn't that be a hoot for a Barbie....

Nicole - I saw your other video and it was great. I don't want you or SU to get in trouble. Could you maybe attach it in a private email? I promise not to distribute it!!! For personal enjoyment only.

I loved the commercial too. They could just offer the clothing and accessories for a "11 1/2 fashion doll" don't you think!!??!! I would totally snatch one up! I LOVE barbie! Always have, always will.

Too funny - I work with a guy that goes to the Barbie convention every year (he deals in the antique ones). Wish I had been at Convention!

Yes, I'd settled for the "accessories" package. I was thinking today they could also offer a "Home Decor" pack for doll houses and maybe one for cars that boys could use to customize and decorate their stuff. How fun!! Can you tell I'm still a kid at heart? Yes, actually a few years ago my husband did buy me a Barbie with extra clothes that I could dress up since all my "collector" ones are sealed in a box and sit on a shelf. That was so fun! That year he also got me crayons and a coloring book. Talk about art therapy!! Sometimes you just need to play!

Yes, it was just Barbie's dressed up to be like demos (carrying a bag with swaps, etc). It was really cute! Convention-Going Barbie and UPS Ken.

It still could be. I used to work at Wal-mart and they had a Wal-mart Barbie for the 20, 25, and 30 year. Also have seen a McDonald's Barbie and more.

OK, there's got to be a woman out there in ebay world that sews handmade Barbie clothes - it wouldn't hard if you knew how to sew that is!!

The subject of UPS Man Ken came up today in another group and I started thinking of a friend of mine that makes doll clothes and sells them on ebay. I'm forwarding her a picture to see if she can make a Ken Doll outfit. How hard could it be? Just brown button up shirt and shorts with a little yellow outlined pocket and a hat !!! If she can make me one, I told her she'd make a fortune selling to all of us demos !!!!!

I know I would buy! LOL
And I would love to have an SU apron for Barbie too. LOL
Tell your friend to make the barbie and Ken outfits and sell them together. She can make some SU gals very happy and make her pocketbook fat at the same time!
