I left a comment on your card havonfamily, could have done it here instead. If you wanted to get nit-picky, for my personal tastes I would add a little shiny bling to the card.... maybe I just like shiny things.... LOL

Havonfamily - I think your card looks great.
If you wanted to add anything, I would suggest a very narrow green (matching the leaves) border at the top and bottom behind the spotted DP layer.

I love the layout of your card. I would have used a different color for the squares to make the strawberries 'pop' more. And maybe a cute little sentiment. I wish my cards looked this good when I had been stamping for only 6 months. Keep up the great work.

Thank you all for helping me by offering your great advice, I sincerely appreciate it all! And thank you for leaving a comment on my cards, I was happy to come home to lovely ideas and compliments

Sewflake, I am actually trying to get used to using bling on my cards. I worry that the bling will look silly and the rest of my card "won't live up to" the bling. Does that make sense? Buy I'm trying hard at it.

Angel08, thank you for the great suggestion, it actually never occured to me to do that but now that you mention it, I think it absolutely needs a small hint of green to make it less "bold" and dark of a card.

Crazystampchick, your idea is great and ties really well into Angel08's idea. I think I shoykd have had green "squares" with a small line of green cardstock matting behind the red dotted paper. It all would tie in much better, I'm sure. Great Idea!

Thank you so much Ladies, I'm off to try to make another card with your suggestions I'll post it when I'm done and see what you guys think. Beware, I usually take a couple days to make a card - LOL

No that wouldn't be fun Sadly mine are in my gallery and on my blog. It is good to look at them sometimes to realize how far I have come. I just don't want to look at them too much.

Talking Paint w/Stickles

I was using my silver Stickles around the edge of the gray paper I had a stamped dragon on. No more would come out, I still had a little more to go around.. I need more, now!I tried rolling the bottle up & squeezing it out, only a little came out. I decided I would have to cut open the bottle up.
I was amazed @ how much there was still left in the bottle. A good 1/2 inch was left in the bottom I was amazed that so much was in it .
I looked for a cheap thin paint brush since this has glue in it. I realized quickly U need a baby wipe to keep wiping the brush off between brush strokes. It worked!!
I still have more left, so I grabbed a few more cards to paint around the edges w/the silver. I even took a piece of black paper & painted the rest from the top nozzle area to use on a later project. It was worth the time spent,& less waste. I'll save my old Stickles & do do it when I have items to use w/ the l/over color.

Thank You Ladies, you are all too kind with your Anniversary wishes

All your kind comments are very much appreciated and I know that if it wasn't for your help, it wouldn't have turned out so nice I can get stuck on an idea or in a "box" and can't think outside of it I like it this way better too

Inside the sentiment says : "Just a Note...."

What an interesting thread. I enjoyed looking at the cards and reading the posts. Now I'm wondering if the designer(s) of the card(s) did some of the changes mentioned and what the revamped card looked like.

Usually when we ask for some advice we will come back and post our new cards. If you look back through this thread you will probably find some. Sorry, I don't have time at the moment to look and link them here.

It is a beautiful card. I would not change a thing! A suggestion might be to provide more information in the description section... TFS!

Ok! I'm playing!
Here is my ugliest card! I had fun using the Thumping Technique on Lovely as a Tree, but when the card was done, well, UGH! It definitely needs tweaking. What would you do to it?

Catherine,
I don't think it's ugly at all. Some things you could do is to trim down the yellow cardstock with the leaves stamped on it. Then you could mat it and add a sentiment below that or leave it. Just an idea. It's still a cute card as is though.

If you have any decorative border punches, I'd punch along one or both edges of the yellow layer.

I'm not looking for criticism, I'm looking for a title. I made a scrapbook page featuring my grandson. I'm beginning to think I need to do an album for him titled: Things to do when bored.
Once I get this page titled, I will post it to my blog.

Picture of the page can be found at:
Forums at Splitcoaststampers

Thank you for any suggestions you may have.

Catherine, all I think I would add to that card is a border punch or strip of paper between the trees and the lower paper. Beautiful card!

Joyce How funny are those pictures.

That is a hard one. How about "Born with a silver spoon in his mouth..... and on this nose,.... and on his cheeks... Or "I was not born with a silver spoon in my mouth"

Or
This kid was spoon fed!
or
Only the spoon knows what is stirring in the pot

That is a hard one. How about "Born with a silver spoon in his mouth..... and on this nose,.... and on his cheeks... Or "I was not born with a silver spoon in my mouth"

Or
This kid was spoon fed!
or
Only the spoon knows what is stirring in the pot
I am laughing. Really cute titles.

Thanks to all who visited my gallery and submitted title suggestions for the "spoon" page. I have edited the picture to show the completed page. Jeffrey chose the title, getting ideas from the ones suggested.

Default Constructive Criticism

is there anyplace that we can post pics of projects for constructive input??

something like, "some more blue here could add more depth to your image."
