Yup, just tried and got the same response. It's almost always the gallery though, never (or rarely) the forums. This I don't understand, but, at least we can still talk.

I can't seem to open anything up right now, but I thought it was just me being impatient. If a page doesn't load up right away, I keep clicking! My computer was freezing up while trying to view today's uploads, so maybe there is something going on. Anyone else?

I was over on ebay and when I came back couldn't even get the scs database. BUMMER

Now I get a message that I cannot connect to the data base. This happens no matter how I try, either through someone elses gallery, or the general gallery at the top menu.

Is there anyone in particular we should contact? Maybe they aren't aware of the problem.

Same here. I keep getting a message stating, "The photo you have requested does not exist or has been permanently removed. Please feel free to contact us if you believe you have reached this message in error." Oh well...I guess that gives me more time to stamp instead of surf. :p

I thought that it was just my computer.

MNCarol 09-18-2006 06:13 PM

Whew! I thought it was only my computer too. It was enough to cause thoughts of throwing the computer out the window!!!

I got that message about "doesn't exist or may have been permanently moved", then after rebooting the computer, the messages kept being "cannot connect to the database".

But as long as it isn't just me, I will let my computer keep on living here until it dies. (usually I call it a "she", but times it acts up it becomes a 'he")

Ugh. I feel your pain. Saturday I *lost* my connection entirely; server at Comcast must have gone down. After being on hold for 20 min., I just hung up and got busy doin' something else.

Then, Sunday, I was thinking geeze, what a butt-load of traffic on SCS, I can't get anywhere!!!! :p Then, it occurred to me mebbe I needed to reset my cable modem. Did that. Then, rebooted both the 'putahs, switched browsers. Slug all day long no matter where I happened to be trying to get to on the web.http://www.millan.net/minimations/smileys/gaah.gif

Now today? No problems.

I still get those error messages, sporadically, that you guys mentioned tho, so it could be any number of things from SCS servers buckling under the traffic load, to the cable modem, to your ISP's servers . . .

I tell ya' on Sunday, I was ready to ditch Comcast (criminy, they are the most expensive . . . ) and call up Qwest for DSL.
