I don't do the email notification, but even if it's an older card I know I haven't commented on but I like it, I still leave the comment. Especially when I'm looking for ideas for projects, SB pages, etc.

Also, one thing I do when I've gone through the days additions, I go and comment by the set gallery and go from there. There are just too many wonderful creations

Thumbs up Thank you Jami!!!!

I went through a period where I would stare at a card trying to come up with a descriptive comment, feel stumped, and move on. Then I decided that was soooooo wrong! If I enjoy the card, but all I can think of is "cute" or "really pretty" then that's what I say. It's sincere, even if it's not descriptive. If a card has lots of comments and I also really like it, then I say so. Doesn't matter to me how many comments a card has. Everyone loves validation and more validation.

I've also noticed the overall decline in the number of comments in the gallery. It really doesn't make sense to me. Yes the number uploads is way up, but we also have way more members to make comments. If everyone who visits the gallery would just leave 5-10 comments per day there would be more than enough to go around for everyone! OK..ok...I'll climb down off my soap box now...

As to the OP...I guess I'm not understanding what "cookie-cutter" comments are.

Point well made Jami!

Thanks

Another feeling I just had......

If you have time to go to the forums area and chat.....

Then you have Time to go to the Gallery and let a couple of comments.

I do this every day, because there are always people who want to know how I did this and that, and I like to get back to them in a timely manner. So people will know if a comment is made on a very old card in their gallery!
Happy Heart...You are always such a wealth of information!! I love all the little ins and outs of surfing through this website that I learn from you all the time!! Thanks for sharing all those shortcuts you've learned

A bit of a hijack - Roxie, thanks to all you do in so many ways for SCS - in spite of probably not always feeling so great. You put a lot of us to shame.

one more thing noone has mentioned is that sometimes going into the card not just viewing itin the list can go slow depending on their computer and connection. There are times I want to leave comments but it takes forever to post for whatever reason (I have cable net so fast speed) and so i don't leave a comment on those days i just few the thumbnails.

When you click on the thumbnail/small photo of the card hold down your shift key at the same time, it'll come up in a seperate window and you can keep moving in the first window. I wouldn't bring up more than three or it boggs down SCS and your own system. The gallery can get very slow without help as we all know!
This should work anywhere on the internet not just here at SCS.

If I shouldn't suggest this due to traffic on the site would one of the mods please let me know!

if you have Mozilla and a scroll mouse, all you have to do is click on a link with the scroll wheel and it'll come up in a new tab!
