.com store VENT...
I placed an order a few days ago for Carl Cutter accessories as that is where I originally bought my cutter a few years ago. They sent me an email about 25% off on all orders for mothers day, but you had enter the coupon code. I am self-employed and only use the internet when I am at work so that is where I place my orders. I'm quite busy right now so I was rushing to get my order in the other day. I looked and looked to find the place to enter the coupon code and couldn't find it. In the comments section, I made a note that I didn't see the place to enter the coupon code. When my order arrived today, in big red letters at the bottom ofm y packing list/receipt, there is a note "deduct 5%" and below that and underlined TWICE, was a note "customer's an idiot!" and then "see comments". I am very upset at such a comment. I was in a hurry to place the order and I looked over several times and couldn't find it. I looked at the order page again today and I finally found the coupon code, but it's on the far right side of the window and if you don't explose the page to fill your screen, you can only see half of the information where it says about the coupon code. I called and left a message for the company telling them how upset I am. I'll wait to see if I hear back from them. I certainly won't be buying anything from them any time soon.

I didn't understand your post. What did the comment say?
OH!!! Never mind, I just saw. Said "Customer's an idiot". Holy crow, that is really not very nice to say something like that about a customer, for any reason, but just because the customer couldn't find the coupon code entry point? Wow. I'm sorry you had to deal with that. That's really wrong.

WOW!! I would definitely be contacting the company's powers-that-be and faxing them a copy of the invoice. That is uncalled for!

WOW, just WOW. So they only gave you 5% off too? Or did they give you the whole 25%...
In any event writing on an order, "customer's an idiot" would get you fired if it was my company. (I don't have a company, I'm just saying...)
WOW, You have to let us know how it goes. I say FULL refund, and an apology. Maybe then you still won't want to order again, but it's the least they can do.

Don't let that kind of comment from someone bother you anymore than it already has. That person probably was having a rough day and obviously doesn't have enough sense to not put inappropriate commentary on order forms. I saw this just made an already bad day worse for you, and I really hope you know that just because someone put that kind of nonsense on your order form does not mean it's true! Many people order from online stores in a hurry and miss key points. I have emailed several vendors (major vendors) with corrections to my orders because I screwed something up, and I'm an IT person, so I know it's not that I'm an idiot - I just was rushing, or the page wasn't clear about something, many things that have nothing to do with my intelligence or my ability to navigate a web site.
Let it roll off your back. Complain, of course, but don't take it personally. I really hope your day gets better!!

I totally agree with Michelle, You are NOT an idiot. Don't you let this person choose how you will feel. Yes, complain, demand action, whatever you want to do, but don't let it change how you feel about yourself.

As long as she is telling the truth and isn't bashing them, she wouldn't be doing anything wrong by telling her story to people. Look at the recent spate of nastiness coming from a pharmacy chain putting rude comments about customers in a field on the insurance claim slip ( I think one of the comments was something like "Lady is crazy" for a woman picking up her antidepressants). They reported those incidents on national news!
As long as she isn't firing insults about them, but is rather simply reporting facts as facts, she is safe in speaking about this. But yes, you do have to be very careful not to step into the realm of slinging poo. That is dangerous.

I would photocopy the sales slip and send it to someone "at the top" and let them know how you feel and that you'll be letting others know, too! Unbelievable...

Unfortunatly this company's issues/customer service has been discussed before. In another thread, they threatened to sue a SCS member for libel because she was telling her problems on this board.

Wow! I mean yes, you can't go bashing a company but I bet that person had real issues just like the OP on this thread.
Well don't get in trouble, they can't treat people like that.

I went to their website just to check out what kind of stuff they sold. If you scroll all the way to the botton there is an icon for echamber which is a customer ratings system. You can leave a review there. The company can't get mad if they are openly asking for your opinions. You should leave one there.

Please contact the company.
While what they did was inexcusable, I think you should give them a chance to expalin or apologize.
I had a problem with them recently and I was pretty annoyed. I wrote an email explaining my dissatisfaction and when I received a less than optimal response from one of the customer service folks, I wrote again.
I then received a very responsive email from the company's president asking me how they could solve the problem( my dissatisfaction).
The email seemed very sincere and it was definitely more than the defensive approach I received from the first person. I have to admit that I was mollified because someone took the time to inquire about the issue and really seemed to want to resolve it.
I think their front line people may not be so great but the upper management "get it" and really will try to get your problem resolved.
I hope it works out.

I'm sorry to hear you are having problems with this company. I ordered from them one time years ago. I didn't have any issues. But a couple months ago I was in the Clearwater area, I had searched online to see what stores were in the area, so I was excited to go check it out. When I went in I wasn't greeted (not a big deal) but the owner was on the phone with a customer (I think it was regarding an Internet order) the customer had a problem and the owner was very rude to her. The conversation continued for awhile. Then when she got off the phone she began to talk to the husband. It wasn't very nice what they were saying about the customer. All of this right in front of me, I really thought it was rude, I didn't buy anything and I won't order from them again! I hope you get your issues resolved.

Just took them off my "favorites list" and they just lost a good customer. This is beyond inexcusable. It is outrageous!

While I agree with about 90% of the comments in this thread... I can't help but think it's always ONE ROGUE EMPLOYEE that can ruin it for a company... Y'all remember the GI who tried to order some mats online... his boss was mortified when he heard what the employee sent back to the GI...

I do agree, give them a chance to straighten it out. It's really bad though but still, if you've ordered from them and they've been good to you then this one time... maybe they have the one stinker working there. Anyhow do let us know how it goes. I haven't ordered from them and I'm very leary of them now.

I ordered from them a while ago and had a very positive experience. I had one item back ordered. I called a little while later on to check if it was really back ordered or if I would need to reorder. I was assured that it was on back order. A few days later I got a call that it was in and I was asked if I still wanted it, I did and they shipped it to me (no additional shipping charge) and I got it in a few days. All very pleasant! Sorry you had such a horrible experience!

Hey, I agree, it's not libel to tell the truth. Unfortunately this company used the threat of a lawsuit (agrueably baseless) to stop the poster from complaining to this larger group.

How can they "straighten it out"? It is done and the proof is in her hand. I don't see how they can explain this one away. They are responsible for their workers and how they respond to the public.

I suggest returning the products and buying it elsewhere. I wouldn't spend my money with a company that treated me like that. Inexcusable!

Here's what I do when I hear of such poor customer service from an online store:
Go to their website. Add them to my favorites. Change the name to (for example) "Don't order from here = W-I"
Then in the future, if I try to add the site to my favs, a window pops up asking if I want to replace it. I say no and find the site in my favorites list. Whaa laah. I am a smarter shopper and won't get burned, insulted, ripped off, etc.
Thanks for the heads up and sorry they treated you like that.

Well, the OP has obviously suffered from some severe emotional distress due to finding that note in her order..
I would cancel and send it back.
