Colouring a marshmallow...(wow that word looks weird!)
I have an awesome stamp from Inky Antics and it is of a S'more...anyone have any ideas how to colour a marshmallow? I wanted to get that shiny colour to it, so I tried sparkling water colours, I even tried texture paint...just wondering if anyone has any experience with this one...
Maybe just color it using your favorite medium (copics, pencil, inks) for the shading and a light coat of glossy accents for the "shine" (or maybe some glue that dries clear, it always seems to leave a bit of a shine in the areas that it oozes!)
HA! Nope, I'm not trying to colour an actual marshmallow...although now that you mentioned I bet at least 10 of the ultra talented ladies that frequent this site will be trying to do SOMETHING like that now!
Thanks for all the suggestions. I've been holding off on buying Smooch...maybe I should take the leap. But I do have glossy accents and I'm going to try it.
I guess I would treat it like a snowman. Use a very light gray-blue to shade only the areas that would be shadowed. Otherwise leave it plain. A marshmallow is definitely very "flat" not glossy.
Or you could use puff stuff that you heat up with the heat gun.
I would just hi-light a gray. BTW marshmallow is an African word. I taught food tech and we made our own marshmallows for the cafe. Peeps are the most fun to make!
I had a friend who used the House Mouse roasting marshmallow stamp for a card one time and she used white Liquid Applique on the marshmallow and then over heated it with the heat gun, it turned brown and looked just like a roasted marshmallow! (be careful not to catch anything on fire though!!)
