Default Color Combinations

Ok... I've been a demo for 5 months now and I'm trying to break out of my same old color combinations. What I would like to know is what color combinations have you come up with that you thought you would never use or like. I will be compiling a list that I will post so that we can all benefit.

TIA

Angela
(who has the stamping/scrapping bug but want new color ideas)

I love the color wheel that SU provides. There are combinations on there that you would never put together but when you do they really do look great together. I live by mine.

Chocolate Chip and Pretty in Pink (cased that cupcake card that was on here a few days ago).

Chocolate Chip and Ballet/Brocade Blue.

I normally can't stand brown. Loved these together.

Angela, check out this thread:
Forums at Splitcoaststampers

Keri typed up a bunch of color combos & attached as a word document. The website is a great resource, too. Kim did a great job putting those together!

Have a great day!

I agree with this - I normally can't stand brown or pink, but I love the way they look together. I'm trying hard to tear myself away from the Perfect Plum/Eggplant Envy and Mellow Moss/Old Olive that I seem to use over and over.

I am most definitely "color-challenged". Because of this, I bought the color wheel. When I get tired of using the same ole' combos, I grab that wheel and FORCE myself to use it's color suggestions. I don't allow myself to judge the color combo until the project is completed. And 99% of the time, it looks great. The wheel (and our gallery) takes away all my color stress.

Here is a wonderful site that takes all the color guessing away (for cardstock combos)! I go here all the time, I'm color combo challenged!

Enjoy

What do like for Christmas color combos? I've been experimenting with ruby red and garden green. I like the rose red and sage shadow combo, too.

Default Color Combos I've had given so far

Here is a list of the color combos that I have had given to me so far. Thanks for all the websites and stuff to look at. I guess I was looking for those Accidental combos that you just happened upon that you looked at and thought wow.

Ruby Red/Summer Sun
More Mustard/Brilliant Blue
More Mustard/Eggplant Envy (I put these two together when it was given to me and wow it really looks neat)
Real Red/Tempting Turquoise
Mellow Moss/Not Quite Navy/Black
Old Olive/Not Quite Navy
Chocolate Chip/Ballet Blue
Chocolate Chip/Brocade Blue
Chocolate chip/Pretty in Pink
Real Red/Green Gable
real Red/Garden Green
rose Red/Sage Shadow
Night of Navy/Old Olive/Barely Banana

If there are any others let me know. This afternoon I think I'm going to get my markers out and see what I like. I have no voice so talking to the kids is out right now. I'm ready for the sickies to leave my house (we are now going on 7 weeks of this bronchitis/pneumonia of course no one can get it at the same time and it lasts 3 weeks.)

If you are a demo you can go into the business tools (I think) section and there is a 2 step stamping chart. They give you the color combos and then there is a space where you can stamp a small 2 step stamp (butterfly from Love Without End works well). I have mine in a binder and look at that for inspiration...then use the color coach to add other colors. It's worked well for me as I seemed to be making everything Pale Plum and Perfect Plum when I first started!
