WHAT'S HAPPENING TO ME?!?!?!?
I used to be a scrapper.
I used to frequent that "other" MB - you know; the #1 SBing site with all of the drama. (scrunchy face)
Now I'm a happy stamper.
I'm IN LOVE with this board! Everyone is kind, generous, helpful.... not crabby!
I want to sell all of my SB cardstock and replace it with all SU cardstock.
I have AWESOME classes for an upcoming CKU (you know: Donna Downey, Ali Edwards, Tim Holtz... YEAH, THEM!) and I'm actually CONSIDERING SELLING MY TICKET. (waiting for huge gasp from the crowd)
Something is WRONG... I feel like I'm MORPHING!! Do I need help??? Has this happened to anyone else?! I'M SO CONFUUUUUUUUSED!!!!

I originally started stamping for the sole purpose of scrapbooking, since I became a demo and now found this addicting site I had to stop and say, wait, it is scrapbooking I love!
I now have enough stuff to make cute versatile cards, so this new catty is going to mark my return to scrapbooking. I am hoping for lots of new cool background papers and some new albums . . . what really motivated me is that new headline alphabet!
So what I am trying to say is it is okay to do both . . . but I would probably sell my ticket too and use the money on new catty stuff!

RedMolly
RedMolly I know who you are... I see your blog linked on CZ's every day & know where your name is "listed" each month for your profession. ;)
To all of the others, the MB I referred to is the #1 listed SB site... That's really all that I want to say about that (ala Forrest Gump - haha) b/c I know that some people LIVE there, as I used to. The dynamics just really seem to have changed lately... I don't have room in my life for things that bring me down (if you KWIM).
Thanks all, so much, for the sweet words. Again... I LOVE IT HERE!!

Uhoh.
Is it against this board's Terms of Use to link to other sites? I know that "other" boards make a big stink about it and I wouldn't want that to begin here... (eek)

No sweat
Hey, no sweat, gal I'm certainly not the Moderator or anyone of any consequence... I'd just hate to see anyone get "in trouble" if that's a rule. I'm just too "newbie" here to know for sure if it is or not. (Note to self: read Terms of Use for SCS) ;)
No one has ever been shut down here for mentioning another site. Split Coast is so busy with stampers I don't think they need to worry about competition. Besides, they really don't compete. There is no stamping site that even comes close to Split Coast. And the scrapping stuff is not as popular here (although I try to work on it...) and besides, those guys scrap differently than stampers. Not entirely, but the two worlds have not yet merged. We still have a lot to learn from each other.
So, go to CKU, even though I am not going to reup my subscription next year as most of the samples in that mag look the same. One crazy collage after another. Except for the occasional becky higgins layout. But go. Frankly (and as a demo I'm committing serious sacralidge) I'd rather go to CKU than the SU convention. Help stamping and scrapping make beautiful music together. Become a SCRAMPER.

OK I too need to know, what do all the initials stand for? Although I hate to burst your bubble, things aren't always rosey here, BUT I still love SCS and I'm totally addicted. There is no other site that I visit now that I found SCS. I love to stamp and scrapbook but I stamp more because I can complete a card in a couple hours but it takes me a week to produce one lay out. YES I know I'm slow.
WOO HOO! I'm crackin' the code!! I *KNEW* reading the DaVinci Code would help me eventually... lmao.
CKU = "Creating Keepsakes University" They seem to be having them in various larger cities around the country. You can google it. That's how I found it. Still working on the infamous "site" tho. I don't think it's the two peas site. Too many people here rave about that one!
Ok... I googled "Tim Holz scrapbooking" and I'm fairly certain the site they are referencing is scrapbook.com. Hello. SB...ScrapBook... Seems so obvious now! I'm still not sure who this guy is, but we're getting closer! ;)
Tim Holtz is an ink artist. He is very good. He has his own line of inks and the new distressed inks he has come out with are fantastic. He is also connected with Ranger industries. He does altered books, cards, domino's and many other stamping related things. Here is a link to read about him. If I had a chance to go see him, I surely would. He is good and very creative. http://timholtz.com/aboutme/

Holy Cow!
I didn't realize that I raised so many questions! I'm sorry for puzzling you guys. Let me answer some!
1) Yes, I'm talking about 2Ps. Just be forewarned. 'Nuff said.
2) SB=scrapbook or scrapbooking, MB=message board
3) Ali Edwards is a graphic designer, turned scrapper, turned contributing editor for Creating Keepsakes magazine, turned author. She's also working on another book but can't reveal the title/topic yet. She also participated in the making of the Lil' Davis book "Full Circle" - which is a KICKIN' book of Circle Journals. Whether you're in one, plan to be, OR NOT, it's just a huge inspiration. You can see Ali's work at 2Ps under the username MAMA2SIMON. She's AMAZING.
4) CKU = Creating Keepsakes University. You can learn more about this on the Creating Keepsakes web site.
5) Tim Holtz is a designer(?) for Ranger Inks. You can find their site by Google-ing it; I'm not sure of it right now, but he does have some amazing tips on ink use.
