Default Urgent Masking question!!

I've never masked before. Could you give me some exact directions? I especially want to make this Happy Birthday card by FCA68 with the jar and the jelly beans:

I have this set and I can't wait to try this!

I'll take a stab at this one. After you stamp a jelly bean on the card, then stamp one on a post it note pad (where the sticky bit is) and cut it out. Place the cut-out bean over the one you stamped so it is "masked. Then stamp another bean overlapping the masked bean. When you remove the mask it will look like one bean is behind the other. Caution: don't use the sticky mask too many times, the ink will eventually saturate through.
Hope this makes sense. Good luck!

Ann has the mechanics absolutely right, but there is one more thing: when you cut your mask out of the post it note, cut inside the lines by at least 1/16" of an inch. Otherwise, you will get a "halo" around the image where the stamp couldn't reach due to the edge of the mask.

YOur right. Wish I had known this to start with. I messed up lots of time until I figured this out.
