Default Clear Dollar Stamps From Michaels!

This is my first card made with one of the dollar sets I got at Michaels.....I stamped first with Versa Mark then in my SU Black Ink and it worked like a charm as a tip by Shawna (Thanks Shawna) I was ready to take them all back!
Heres my first card made with the clear stamps!

I am not a stamping pro so pardon the question - why do you have to versa mark ink it first then stamp it black? Do you mean ink it with versa mark first then stamp on paper then black ink it then re-stamp?

Clear stamps do not stamp well with dye inks (like SU Classic). To get around this, you ink the stamp up with Versamark and then into your color of choice. No stamping in the middle - just directly from the Versamark to your color. The Versamark helps the dye ink adhere to the clear stamp better. Clear as mud??

I have been doing the versamark with the classic inks for embossing too. That way you can just use clear embossing powder and get the color you want. It works great!

I love the fact that there a little set. not just 1 single stamp. that's what's got me hooked on these. hope they do come out with more of them.

Forgot to mention love the fact that they have the black on them so hopefully the staining won't be as bad. that might be a prevention for the staining.

I got some yesterday and love them. I found two different size blocks too. I have a large CTMH block, but figured I could use some small ones. I found I got great results just with my test this morning by pushing lightly. Cant wait to stamp some cards!! I only bought 3 sets. I am gonna check out a different Michaels tomorrow, we have like 5 in our area lol.

Doesn't the versamark ruin the ink pads, by making them sticky? Just curious.
I did manage to find these stamps, I thought they were great little sets.

I found them kind of sitting on top of the regular dollar stamps. I guess they didnt have a seperate bin to put them in at my Michaels. I almost didnt see them. So look close, because they are thin and small lol.

I went to my M's and didn't have any and had NO IDEA what I was talking about. They told me to look online in at the M's web site. Do these stamps have a name?

I don't know how she only bought 5 though. I bought 14 different sets!!
They are made in Taiwan by a division of Hampton Art Stamps.

I just found them today! I previously went to two other M's and they didn't have them yet. Keep looking in the dollar bins, they'll be there soon. I bought 15 of them! Let's just say that I've been stalking my local M's for these for a few days! LOL !

remember you can always call your Micheals and see if they have them in! I called three one was sold out one still hadn't gotton them in yet and the third one said they had no idea what I was talking about! I asked if she could look by the other $1 stamps and she found a box that they hadn't even put out yet so I asked and she went through the box found me 16 difarent ones and put them aside for me! (that Micheals is like 45 min from me so having them out away for me makes the trip worth it

I noticed someone posted that they have black on them already and not to worry about staining, mine are clear, the piece of acetate they are stuck to has a black image on it, but the stamp itself is clear.

I know what you mean. I live 45-1hr away from the nearest Michael's and couldn't find time to go so I sweet talked someone here on SCS to get some for me and they did. I am so excited to get them. I have 4 or 5 SU sets I just got and haven't even used yet. But I just had to have these clear stamps. They are my first. Anxious to see what they're like.

I bought some also. I got 6 of them at M's and 2 blocks. I also got about 4 of them at Jo's. Yesterday I went to Hobby Lobby and their clear stamps are 50% off. I picked up a set of the Rhonna Farrer and only paid $8 total. But I just tried them all out and Im not liking how the ink coverage is, its not a crisp outline. I may try the versamark first but I think that will make the stamps sticky and it really doesnt wash off well. I guess it wouldnt hurt to do it on the $1 ones.
