When using these stamps, don't push down very hard...In another post, someone mentioned using versamark first then whatever ink you want. I did this and it works great. Here's my first card using these very cute stamps!

Checked my local store yesterday evening in Burlington, Ontario. They didn't have them and the sales people had no idea what I was talking about. They just got in a truck load of stuff Thursday, but it was not unpacked yet, so I'm going back tomorrow to check again.

When you go in, if the cashier is still clueless, ask to speak to a manager or someone in receiving.

Cashiers (unless they are working the floor and helping to cashier as needed) don't have anything to do with stock, it is the floor people, managers and receiving.

I have heard (and experienced) that not all store personel are as nice as mine to deal with. Just smile, be patient and let them know you know it's out there and just anxious. hehehe

Smile Michaels

I'm tempted to check our Michaels (the only one in the state), but don't feel up to making the 40 mile round trip tonight. Maybe I'll try to get there tomorrow afternoon...!

Did someone say they have new spring stamps in? Are you speaking of the wooden dollar stamps? One thing our Ms *never* runs short of are those wooden ones -- there are literally 10 or 12 bins with those silly things. They added some newer ones in January, but I've picked over everything and have bought all of the current ones I care for. Itching for something new!

That's how the cashiers were when I asked about the Cuttlebug back in early Feb -- "Do you mean the Cricuit?" "Noooo - it's by the same company, but I'm looking for a small green die-cutting machine called the Cuttlebug..." "Nope - never heard of it!"

And at JoAnns, where they had the dies and embossing folders but no machine, it was, "No - we're discontinuing that! They not making them anymore..." :rolls eyes:

Now, of course, both Mikes and Jos have had the Cuttlebug machine and a huge selection of the dies/embossing folders for a couple of weeks now (and yes, I *did* get one, but haven't used it yet!)

The Michael's I went to in Des Peres had them. I pick up 7 really cute sets. I think I need to work on my technique though...I tend to press down like I do with rubber, but I don't think you have to do that with acrylics...am I right? Or does someone know something I don't? Every image I stamped onto whisper white didn't produce the crisp image that I had hoped.

I drove all over town to get my hands on these. My local Michael's only had 4 differnt sets. As the enabler that I am, I got the numbers to all the surrounding Michael's and found out who had them. A store about 40 minutes away just got them in the day before. I immediately drove over there and was able to get 9 more sets.

On another note, I haven't been able to get a clear stamp yet. I'll keep trying all the tricks until I do. I can't give up the $1 deal so easily.

I'll play with mine this afternoon and see how mine stamp.

Good thinking in calling the other stores.

I'm not sure how it would work on 'mixed pot' $1 items where everything is the same skew - but I know on idividual UPC items, they can scan the item on the gun and tell you how many they have in stock, and sometimes, which stores have an item. In which case, you can opt to drive to the other stores or ask them to have them shipped over.

These stamps have the same UPC so I imagine the SKU is the same as well...

Check yes for Maryland. I got 4 sets and a couple of blocks. Some of the images are ok, but the words are always useful.
