I bought the cutest Halloween ribbon the other day. I've seen posts about special scissors for ribbon. This ribbon is wired. The wire is very thin, but it has got to be worse on scissors than paper, and I shudder at the thought of using my good scissors on it. What do I do?
I usually use cheap scissors to cut the length plus a little I want, then pull out the wire and use my good scissors to trim it after I tie my bow or knot.
I hadn't even thought about removing the wire, but I did and liked the ribbon MUCH better without it. Thanks so much everyone!
After all the posts I've seen about how people feel about someone using their special ribbon scissors to cut paper I just didn't think cutting wire with them would be good for them. I have some "el cheapo" scissors, but they din;t do such a great job on the ribbon. Taking the wire out was perfect, and the ribbon lays nicer on the cards too.
I guess I thought pulling out the wire might make the ribbon unravel or something - kind of dumb I guess, lol.
