coloring shrinky dink wine charms

I had a wonderful day today, making wine charms out of shrinky dink. I spent all day and made about 20 sets of 4 to sell at an upcoming craft show.
I stamped the images with stazon black and started coloring with su markers, but the color was feathering a little bit so I switched to su pencils because I read someones post and that is what they did.
Now I have 20 sets and I think I messed up using the pencils. won't the color just smear if the charm gets the least bit wet?
Any suggestions on what I can do, short of taking them all off the wire (beaded as well)?

First I would test one
then you could cover it with CE if you need to

I color mine with colored pencils before shrinking. After shrinking, I coat the backs with a sealer--either Krylon clear spray, or clear nail polish, depending on the size of the project and what's handy.

great idea with the nail polish. I was thinking spraying but i already have it on the wire with beads and thought it might be a mess.
I think CE would be hard to do for the same reason. but nail polish might just do the trick. thank you both.

I just did a bunch of personalized ones for my kids' teachers for teacher appreciation gifts (made them into charms for a bottle of water or a soda can). I colored them before shrinking with my Prismacolor pencils. After they shrunk and cooled, I sprayed them with clear acrylic. I do the same thing for name tags for my kids' bags and they've lasted just fine.

I always color mine with Sharpies before I shrink...then they're permanent.

but don't sharpies make stazon run?

In the future, color the shrink plastic "before" you shrink them and then the color is imbedded into the plastic and it won't wear off. The colors will be much darker once the plastic shrinks.

After shrinking I don't believe the pencil will adhere without a coating as suggested with nail polish or krylon spray.
