HELP!!!! IDEAS NEED FOR MALE CLIPBOARD!!

Hi there everyone,

I am doing a clipboard for my daughters teachers christmas gift (a male) and am decorating it with papers relating to music - he loves it!! Anyway, my question is - usually when I decorate the loop on the clip I use ribbons but I am thinking ribbons isnt really the "go" with a clipboard for a male (lol), so what else could I decorate it with - they look kinda boring not decorated around the clip!! HELP ME PLEASEEEEEEEEEE!

hemp, rafia or even mascline colored ribbon (blue, black, brown, green)

Ribbon is not the problem. Just don't use organdy. Use darker colors of grosgrain. Hemp is too thin. Raffia could be fine, just don't over-do it.

Trim ribbon ends at an angle, not with arrows (if you know what I mean) and keep them a little shorter than you would with a girly one. Also, metal embellishments are always fun. Maybe hang a music charm or two from hemp or linen thread at the clip to add some masculinity to the be-ribboned area.
