These are so cute! I want to make some. How much did you charge for them when you sold them? I'm also curious whether the paper by itself is sturdy enough. Or did you use cardstock and paper together?
Thanks!

I really enjoyed looking at all your creations. Sorry I didn't leave comments. I really shouldn't be here at all. But I just can't stay away. I'll eventually get everything done, right? I'm going to have to start making Christmas presents next week. By December 2007 I should have them done. I could get a lot more stamping done if I could just get my stamping room back. Ds is staying with us temporarily so had give up my room for him. Anyway, Merry Christmas to all of you.

Hello!
I have received several PM's. I did not sell these as we made them as gifts and they were perfect!
The original pattern came from Renee and it was a great template.
Then garnetj checked with Renee and created a template for the computer. This is her link
http:////www.splitcoaststampers.com/...63#post4292163
I just used the one that Renee sent me and it worked great just by cutting. I useed mostly double sided cardstock but some just regular cardstock and it was fine. It is a stronger box with the heavier double sided cardstock. I will try to post Renee's template here as well, which is also added to the bottom of the link above

My other question is how did you attach the ribbon that keeps the box closed? Is it one piece, and if so then don't you have to thread it through again each time it is opened? If it is two pieces, how did you attach it so you don't see the end on the inside? Or do you see it?
Thanks and Merry Christmas!

Hi "ann2"...
I put eyelets on the front of the box and on the flap. Cut two peices of ribbon and tied a knot at the end of the ribbon that goes on the inside of the box and flap. This seemed the easiest so that you could just tie and untie the ribbon to have access. I started out with one piece of ribbon but it was a pain trying to re-string it each time you wanted to close it

I love those boxes you did a great job on them.
I saw this in the gallery and fell in love with it. I think I will make these for 2007 for dh's sisters and brothers along with putting together their moms recipes and making a small book.

Those tins are a great idea for teacher gifts.
Glad to know I am not the only one already thinking about what to make for next year especially since this one hasn't finished.

DVD tins can be found at effectuality.com I just ordered 20 for next year. They sell for less than $2 each, the more you buy - the cheaper. They don't have a minimum order but they do charge extra for orders under $20. Maybe someone could pool an order. Have fun!!

Would love to see new ideas posted here. I have a long-standing tradition of making my daughter's cry at Christmas over their gifts. Need a new sentimental winner! Ladies.....

oh dear, my head is spinning with all this creativity!!! And it reminded me that I had planned to do a "name frame" for my parents and cover a wooden letter with my sisters initial for gifts this year. Maybe too late for Christmas but there's still Epiphany so I might get it done. And that clipboard with the blackboard paint and the chef embossed in white....too adorable!!! What an awesome clipboard gift that would be! Jan
