I need some help please. I am doing my SIL wedding cards and she selected a 5/8" cream ribbon that has a solid cream stripe down the middle with sheer sides. I have to wrap the ribbon around the front and back of her invitation folder. What would be the best adhesive to use that won't be lumpy or go through the sheer parts of the ribbon making a mess? Would a xyron x be appropriate? I do not have one nor have I ever used one so I really need everyone's advice.
Thx.
I would try a doublestick tape down the middle of the ribbon where it is thicker and won't show through. Scor Pal makes a great tape that has a really good hold and you can get it 1/4" wide. You can also tear this tape, which you can't do with the redline tape.
i use sticky strip on ribbon as well, but i have noticed on the sheer ribbon that the sticky feel can go all the way through, so i'd make sure you only get the tape on the solid part of the back of the ribbon....boy, that probably doesn't make much sense.....
If you are going all the way around the card, I would punch a hole where you want the bow, and then go across the front, around the back, pulling the ends up through the hole with one on each side of the ribbon, and tying the bow that way. No adhesive required.

I had a ribbon all the way around my daughter's wedding invitation. Since the inside of the invitation had several layers, I just punched two small rectangle holes to thread the ribbon through. People untied the bow to open the invitation and it stayed with the invite instead of falling off. Just another idea.
The stay put bow was cool!
