Default Chicago Stores PLEASE

Hi

I am heading over to a conference in Chicago this week-end,and I will be trying to eek out some time to go shopping for scrapping and stamping goodies. Can people recommend their favourites please?
I will be on East Wacker Drive, which is within the magnificent mile.
I am very excited but conscious that my shopping time will be limmited.
Thanks so much
Sam

There's
http://www.windycityscrapbooking.com/
and right down the street from me is:
http://www.stampologychicago.com/
But one of the nicer stores that I like is:
http://www.craftfancy.com/

Oh...forgot this one:
http://www.stamponin.net/

and this one I have not been to:

Hope that helps...have fun...weather should be nice.

I think Ansa covered it well. There is also a Dick Blick on State Street(probably walkable with comfy shoes) if you want to go that route. The weather is supposed to be beautiful. Keep in mind that the Chicago Marathon will be happening on Sunday so that will mess with a lot of streets, especially in the morning.

Have fun!

From downtown Windy City is a short cab ride away and the best for a small but unique source. It always amazes me how they are about a sixth the size of Archiver's and yet I always find things there I never see anywhere else. The others may be far for you to drop into.

Thanks Ansa for that Stampology lead. I don't know why, but I thought it was way out in a south suburb. It's not too far from my sister's house so we will have to make a visit! Since Fine Arts closed in Deerfield I am limited to Archiver's (not that I am complaining!) and Michael's (which has gotten much better lately).

The one that's in the southwest suburbs is Stamp Thyme.

*sigh* I've only been to Chicago once, but, I enjoyed it. I didn't get to see a lot, but, I was under the impression there is a lot to do and see there. Some day, mebbe my hubby and I will get to go together!

Have fun on your trip!

Gonna see Oprah?

The Stampology store is small but loaded with goodies. The staff is wonderful.

Stamp On In is a short bus ride near Lincoln Park. The store owners are delightful. Again, small but loaded.

Both stores are worth the trip.....unless you're attempting to save money!

Windy City is primarily a scrapbooking store with a few stamps but lots of embellishments.

I wish I could see Oprah- but I am sure she's busy.
I am looking forward to it- the city sounds great, I couldn't bear to be in the USA and not shop, but there is a lot I want to see in the city too.

Thanks for the suggestions people.

Sam
