DebbieinOC! I am so excited for you that you are our Featured Stamper this week! I hope you have a great week. I am not feeling my best at the moment so I missed out on CASEing a card but maybe later in the week.

The TLC is Floating Elements. Such a fun challenge!

I am curious. Have you ever created a card with floating elements? I have seen several techniques. I believe Sabrina did a version some time ago using Press and Seal and popped up elements. I purchased Press and Seal so I could try it but I never have taken the time to try one.

The site is experiencing some issues with cards not going in galleries and also we are having difficulty linking in our challenge posts. We hope you will bear with us and keep playing along!

There are two ways to help everyone see your cards.
1) add the keyword in the Title. For Example: TLC83 - Happy Flowers

2) Make sure to come back to the challenge and make a comment including the link to your card. That way everyone can stop by the challenge and find your card!

Thanks so very much for your patience as IT works to renovate and make SCS better than ever!

The CC827 is Call Me Crazy, But Whisper.

Teapot Challenge - To the Orient Paul is our recipient. He lost his mom to Covid on Dec 13 and his wife of 31 years on Dec 22 to Covid. I can't imagine the pain he is experiencing. Check out the challenge for the address and even if you don't have the time to play in the challenge, maybe you have a card in your stash to send to Paul.

Sketch Challenge is a slimline.

My question: Are you a fan of Slimline cards? Let's discuss what we like about them.

I love the slimline size. It has been a while since I completed one. I like how you can spread things out across the landscape having the sides shorter. I struggle with this kind of card in the regular A2 size. I think this size is fun for stacking item up tall, like animals standing on top of each other. Maybe I should make one soon as my mind is thinking now.

F4A570 is to Make Valentines with NO red. Nope, no red. Lots of fun projects in the gallery!

MIX417 - color it twice. This is an easy way to add the 2nd coloring medium to qualify as a MIXED project!

Ok, Challenge lovers. Is there a challenge that you played in this week that you especially loved?
Is there a challenge you really want to get to that you haven't?

I only played in one this week. It was the challenge I hosted on Watercolor Cherry Blossoms. I really enjoyed that one and loved seeing what everyone created.

The Challenge I would really like to play in is the first one of the week! I would love to celebrate Debbie as our Featured Stamper. My husband is home today and he isn't feeling well so....not sure how much time online and in the stamp room I have today.

Ang - I have a love/hate relationship with slimlines, lol! Not hate - that's a strong word, but dislike maybe .. they are pretty, I like to make them, but I can't seem to photograph them!

Congratulations, DebDeb!

This week's Watercolor Wednesday is Northern Lights. The cards are going to be gorgeous! Did you notice that WCW is back on the home page? Woohoo!

The Teapot Challenge is inspired by the art of Mary Nohl. The destination is one another!

Mary Nohl didn't have to work but was able to experiment with art during her lifetime. If you could create whenever you wished, what medium would you explore?

For me I think, I would want to work more with watercolor, buy better supplies and take some lessons. I would also enjoy exploring more mixed media.

Your turn!

WT829 - is all about beverages! You will enjoy taking a look at the gallery even you can't create a card for it right now!

F4A571 - Sympathy.

Mix418 - Junk it! Make sure to check out the creations for this challenge. Such beautiful ways to use junk!

Today's question is prompted by the F4All Challenge.
I find that Sympathy cards are the most difficult to create. How about you? Do you make your sympathy cards in advance or do you create them as the need arrives. I would prefer to make mine ahead but that doesn't always happen. It seems extra hard to create a sympathy card when I am feeling overwhelming sadness. Now is a great time to take advantage of the F4All prompt!

Any thoughts?

I usually find it easier if I have a sympathy card ready to go in my stash, but sometimes I use them up and don't replace them. My SIL asked me for a dozen last week, so I made six each of three designs and kept two of each for myself. Mailed hers off today with a note saying I hoped she didn't get through them too quickly.

The Northern Lights cards are amazing! I'd like to try that myself. Still struggling here with not enough time, sigh...

I usually make my sympathy cards as I need them. I find I make different scenes and messages depending on the person and the situation. Not ideal because it's not always easy to know what to make, but it doesn't have to be the first card they receive either, so I guess I'm ok with that. I just do my best.

Sabrina, you really need to try the Northern Lights. It's so fun and the results are so beautiful. And I think it's really foolproof because the colors are so beautiful. I hope you find some time to dabble.

Jumping off your comment, Debbie, I would say that receiving a sympathy card several weeks or even a month or two after the loss was very impactful for me when my mom died. It was knowing that someone remembered my mom and the loss of her even after life had gone on, as it should and needs to. I just really appreciated knowing that I wasn't the only one who still felt her loss.

Today we are celebrating Gayle as our Featured Stamper!

There are several ways to make Gayle feel special! First off, of course, play in the challenge and CASE one of her cards. But we can also, post one or more comments on card(s) in her gallery. Also if time doesn't allow for any of that, congratulate her in the challenge post!

The TLC is Kaleidoscope Squares. I took a look at the gallery and it's beautiful!

The technique just prompted me to buy some square nesting dies! No matter how hard I try I can't cut perfectly square, squares. I have one Spellbinders set but I can't stand how they have so few layers. So after all these years of stamping, I finally ordered an infinity set.

Is there something you have recently bought that will make your stamping projects easier? Maybe something you have wanted/needed for a long time but recently decided it's time! Or maybe there is something that has been on your wishlist a long time and it's still there.

It's Color Challenge Day and this week is Valentine colors with a twist, you have a choice between two.

Today is a very special Teapot Challenge! We are sending cards to our very own Cheryl. I am not sure there is anyone at SCS who has not been touched by Cheryl's sweet comments. She is such a dear lady, always praying for everyone she meets. Let's shower her with a tea party!

my wish list is some kind of a ceramic or maybe glass palette with wells for watercoloring to mix colors on type of a thing. I have been doing a little bit on my glass mat but, I try really hard to keep it not so juicy so it doesn't run off the edge. and I did squirt some of my tube paints into plastic folding storage boxes with wells but, it just seems like there is never enough room to mix colors on those.
but, I have not actually bought anything for doing that yet.
Ooh those colors look gorgeous and I love the Kaleidoscope cards I seen yesterday morning.

Cheryl is so sweet! I’m so glad it’s her tea party!!

I have been focused on setting up my craft space in a way that flows better. Trying to get it to where it is stupid simple to keep it fairly tidy & organized. I have been trying to avoid looking at new things until I get my current space figured out.

Oh, Stacy, I hope you find just what you are looking for soon! I have one I purchased but it only has one large well. I would like something with more as well!

Misti, good going on holding off until you get your space to work well. I really, really need to figure out some organization. Especially for colored cardstock. I seem to have things tumbling all over the place!

Misti, no matter how "organized" I get, it seems I keep buying too much stuff and have to go back and get "organized" all over again. LOL. So, my advice is to get it comfortable but not perfect because you will probably be reorganizing in the future and it's ton more fun to stamp than organize.

Stacy, Good luck finding what you want. I have no idea where to look except maybe one of the art supply sites like Jerry's Artarama. Here's one brand at Jerry's but I am not sure it's what you want: https://www.jerrysartarama.com/engli...elain-palettes

Or one of the sites that sells a lot of mixed media supplies? Hope you find exactly what you want.

Angie, This is my most simplistic method for keeping my color cardstock organized. I use large ziplock bags and sort by color: blues, aquas, yellow/orange, etc. If the sheets are 8 1/2 x 11 they fit in the one galloon and for the 12 x 12 they fit in the 2 galloon. Then they are stacked on a shelf in my closet. Not perfect because some of the scraps that I keep in the bag make them wonky, and sometimes the corners get bent if I am not careful sliding them into the bag. But it's cheaper, easy to use and more compact than plastic bins -- unless you have the space for those because I think that is the cadillac for paper storage. Good luck.

I’ve done that method for too many years. So now, I have a container rule. If the container is full, I either have to get rid of something or use something up (if it’s consumable) before I can get something else. I have spending “freezes” for several different consumable things until I make some decisions on them.

It has helped that as I organized, I created my "freeze" for one item at a time. DP was first, washi tape, ribbon... I didn't freeze on everything. And it isn't a permanent freeze, just until I use up or donate.

Debbie, that sounds like a good idea on sorting colored cardstock!

Misti, that would be a very wise habit to get into for pretty much everything that comes into the house! I am just not that dedicated at this point, but it's a goal!

The Watercolor Wednesday Challenge is up. I found it challenging but worth the effort. I can't wait to see the entries this week!

The Sketch Challenge is up! If you like a sketch on the CAS side this one is for you! Of course, it certainly doesn't have to be CAS!
