Default Quick question about embossing.

I've got this idea for a card but can't quite seem to get it to work. I want to stamp the whole card with the Print Pattern background in VersaMark. But then, I want to emboss the Wonderful Words "Thank You" on top of that with the basic black detail embossing powder. Is that possible? I've tried a couple times but the embossing powder is sticking to the stamped background. Is there a way to prevent it? Any tips would be great! Thanks so much!

From my limited embossing knowledge....
You need to let the Versamark Print Pattern background dry before stamping the Thank You in versamark and embossing. I would suggest using your heat gun to set the versamark then stamp Thank You in versamark add your EP heat it and you are done! HTH

Try it the other way round. Emboss your words first and then do the bkg in versamark It's kinda like masking, what's in front gets stamped first and then the background on top of that.

Thanks! I can't remember how much time I let the card sit last night to dry but I'm sure it probably wasn't enough time for the VersaMark to dry. I'm too impatient. LOL I'll try both suggestions and see what works best for me. Thanks so much!!!

You could do the Print Pattern stamping in a dye ink (using the same colour dye ink as the cardstock will give a similar look to versamark ink) rather than using the sticky versamark ink.
The dye ink should dry alot better than the versamark ink would (a little heat setting would help dry the dye ink too), then once the dye ink colour of your choice is dry, do the Thank You in versamark ink next and follow with the Black Embossing powder.
Good Luck.
Please upload your card once you get it as you like it. We'd love to see it.

You could have let it sit out to dry overnight and some of the EP would still have stuck to the Versamarked background -- trust me, I know!

I've done this and just ran an embossing buddy over the versamarked background before stamping the words. The powder didn't stick to the background.

You can also heat set the Versamark images to dry them and then do your words BUT I think laurakj's idea of embossing the word first is great.

Thanks everyone! I tried both ways. The stamping and embossing the "Thank You" first worked best. I'm not patient enough to sit and heat set the VersaMark as long as it would need to be done. I tried twice to and it didn't work. I like the look of the VersaMark as opposed to the color background, otherwise I would have used that. Thanks again.

I've posted the card in my gallery. It's simple. Nothing fancy. I'm not quite talented enough for the fancy stuff yet.
