The first tiem I opened them and I dropped them all over the floor!! I tried eyeballing the colors to get them in the right order but the picture in the cataloge is too small. Can any one help me out with a large digital photo so I can piece them together in the right spot??? Any help would be greatly appreciated .
Oh, I feel for you - I've done the same thing. The best thing I can suggest is to find a fellow stamper and compare pastels. I managed to get most of mine back in the right place by "eyeballing" them, but some just didn't work out right. I hope this picture works, but different dye lots look different. Good luck!
I can't help you really because I've messed them all up opening them so many times, but it's so great to know that others have the same problems. I have the hardest time opening the lid without at least 5 colors popping out of place. I'm actually thinking of using a Stampin' Dimensional or glue dot to stick mine in place. I don't even try to figure out why I always mess everything up anymore, now I try to consider all the things I can do to make something better. "Necessity is the mother of invention" so I've heard.
I did the same thing!! Tried to eyeball them the best that I could then just gave up! For the most part they seem to match up with the lid, but once in awhile I run into some of the 'blues' that start to look like each other, or don't look like they should.
not much help but just know it does happen, no sense crying over spilt chalks
Hi all,
Well, I am glad I am not the only one!!. :P I tried to follow the titles on the package but that didn't work. The names are really little help when I am not that familiar with all the diffrent shades of green etc. So then I tried the cataloge. The pic is too small. Oh well, I guess I will have to do trial and error as I do my projects
Thanks for makeing me feel part of th gang

How about stamping a small image on a piece of white cs using the inkpads (since you know their colors) and then use the applicator or q-tip to match up the pastels you aren't sure of ? Hope this suggestion helps.
Happy Stamping!!!
Janet
I also dropped my pastels on the floor. I put them in as best I could. I finally bought a new set for me and I'll keep the broken ones for use by customers (or kids). When I compared the two, there were several colors that were slightly changed (like our cardstock). I think there were only two lavendar colors I had to switch. If you use your colors a lot, you should be close enough. Good luck!!!

I put mine back together by following that black foam insert where they had left an image. And I thought I was just clumsy. Every time I open them, I say to myself "Remember what happened last time"
I haven't had this happen to me, but it has happened several times to my friend.
I found that if you put your index finger under the lid on the two front corners (right and left side) and lift up (with your thumb on top of the lid), you won't have them popping out all over the place. This works for me every time.
This reaaallly stinks! The container is the problem, maybe gluing them in place would help, I am going to try it! So sorry for you! I know exactly how you feel, and mine all broke into bits. :(
I have come so close to doing this so often. If it ever happens you will hear my scream all over the country. We should all e-mail SU and see if we can get them to redesign the container. Love the chalks just hate the box!
The black/gray foam piece helps me too. There is usually enough dust on it to figure it out. Plus it helps if I leave the chalk in place where they fell....that helps when there is a tough choice, since they stay together with their neighbors (in most cases).
As you might be able to tell, I've dropped mine a few times. The new container is a little better for me since it takes deliberate action for me to open the case.

I feel your pain! I dropped my last set several times. this last time, most of them were destroyed. Luckily for me, my recruit had just gotten her kit and had the set that came in her kit. She already purchased them a while back so she gave me her's! I dropped them the night before my camp!
Oh my gosh! I just dropped mine for the first time last night! After deep thought and much frustration, I realized that the color order didn't matter- when deciding which color I wanted to use, I went by eye when choosing the colors and not by the name title. That saved me much time b/c I realized it didn't really matter what order they go in. If just may be ok if the colors are not put exactly in the correct place.
