Default Looking for patriotic centerpiece ideas

My sister is running for a public office, and she is having a hotdog supper/kickoff fund raiser. I told her I would make centerpieces for the tables. It will be casual, and I am looking for ideas using paper. I thought about paper rosettes on sticks in little buckets. Maybe stars punched out, too. Any other ideas? Thanks!

edie3.....If you have a Cricut or Expression and the Stand and Salute cartridge, you could make some super and very appropriate center pieces with that cartridge. There are many images on there that would be great. For that matter any of them would be. Using the layering feature, makes them even more impressive and dimensional.

Oh, crap! My post has a major spelling error. Quick, how can I edit it?

I found it! What a place to leave a letter out!

Have you checked under Independence Day in the Occasions Gallery section here? There are some ideas that may get you started.

I made this 4th of July decoration using a Pringles can. You could easily change the design to suit your needs.

Here's the link to my project: http://atouchfromtheheart.typepad.co...p-stop-34

LOL, the first thing I thought of when I saw this thread was Patti's firecrackers! Glad she got you the link already. . . .

For another idea you might be able to work with, I did a punched silver star card for an Operation Write Home blog hop. You could put something like that on floral picks and add to your centerpieces.

Heck, you could even make 'em 3x3s with gold stars, and have a different little fact about your sister and her accomplishments on the inside of each one--all the 'gold stars' that make her the best choice.

People might get a kick out of checking them out. . . .

Be sure to show us what you end up doing--and good luck to the candidate (she *is* pro-stamping, isn't she?)

Thanks, Holly!

Patti, your firecracker is adorable! LOVE the multi-colored strips coming out the top!
