Default Card layout books

Does anyone know where I can get or the name of a book/magazine that has layout ideas for cards-kind of how there are layout books for scrapbook pages.
Thanks

Wink card layout books

Personally, I like the card sketch challenges here better than a book because here I can just see the design with no paper/embellishment suggestions...That lets me go "WILD AND FREE"....where in most design books they show a finished card right next to the basic sketch.....
Here I can wait and see what others have done with the same design after I have had a chance to process/work with my choice of colors and textures. I guess I feel over whelmed when I see other completed cards first.

Also, Card Positioning Systems (CPS - like GPS!) is a great site...

The Cardmaker's Sketch Book is great. I just got it a week or so ago after JulieHRR mentioned it when she replied to a post a while back. Here's a link to it on Amazon.

http://www.amazon.com/Cardmakers-Ske...6956748&sr=1-1

The card sketches were designed by Tami Mayberry - an SCS member. I believe Tami also has something to do with the Card Positioning Systems website.

What I really like about the book is that there are sketches for different size and shape cards - and there are at least 4 pictures of cards as inspiration for each sketch. You'll know some of the names of the card designers as some are SCS members and well known bloggers! JulieHRR was too modest in her original post to say she had contributed some designs to the book!

I also have printed off the SCS weekly sketch challenges - they are fabulous too. It's wonderful that you can get the whole lot in two files, either a Word doc or a PDF file. Here's a link to the thread where you can get those files.

Default CTMH books

Has anyone bought the CTMH books [for card layout/making]? What do the books offer?

I pick up books/mags often, but end up putting them back because I have SCS at my fingertips.

thanks for your opinions,
Valerie

Another great resource is the magazine - Joy of Card Making and Joy of Card Making a Second Helping. The magazine is all layouts and there is a mini index in the back. I use it all the time.

You can get in on Amazon and I think at Archiver's.
