Question Urgent-Liquid Applique question-please help

I've never used liquitd applique before. Just used it on a winter card thinking that all I would have to do is apply it and then heat it with the heat gun. Upon reading the directions another couple of times, I'm now uncertain if I have to let it dry OVERNIGHT and THEN heat it with the heat gun. The instructions seem geared for fabric, not paper.

Can anyone help? How long do I have to let it dry before heating with the heat gun? It is sitting there on my card, wet and waiting for an answer.

Thanks!
judy

I tried a "new technique" with liquid applique once at a stamping convention. The teacher did not have us wait. We applied and heated a couple layers of liquid applique in just a short time.

I always use the heat gun immediately after applying.

Thanks for the FAST replies--I'm going to try the heat gun right away. I appreciate your help.

You can do either. One way makes it puff up more than the other but I forget which it is - heating it right away or waiting for it to dry then heating it. Either way it looks nice. Just be careful that you don't get your heat gun too close if you're using white. It will scorch. Don't ask how I know that!!:-D

Thanks, everyone. It worked! I think heating it right away makes it VERY puffy, because that is what happened. Next time I'll try letting it dry a little longer.

Heating it right away makes it very puffy, the longer it sits and dries out the less puffy it gets, letting it sit over night, it puffs up just a bit. HOpe this helps!

It's more like leaving it overnight before heating makes it a smoother "puff." Like a cloud. Where heating it right away looks more bumpy. Which is kind of cool because sometimes you want a different look...
