Card for a Halloween Wedding

Well, I thought it was a joke but, one of our customers really is getting married today. Just out of curiosity, I checked for cards in the stores - nada! There does seem to be a trend of sorts for Halloween weddings though - the "Let them eat cake" website shows a fab cake for such an event.

I didn't have a whole lot of time to get a card together but, I think this turned out well.

ahhhh, that's cute! Good job! If the trend keeps up, you could look for Day of the Dead stuff but I don't know if there are any stamps. I have friends that had a cake topper of Day of the Dead. Supposed to be good luck.

Several years ago TLC channel had a Halloween wedding. The bride and groom dressed up in costumes, not traditional garb of course, I just don't remember what though. The wedding party was in costume also.

I guess they liked it, but wouldn't be my cup of tea. I'm too traditional.

Here's a thought: a big pumpkin stamp or diecut made into a jack-o-lantern wedding cake. His nose could be a diamond, interlocking rings for eyes, some smaltzy wedding couple colored to look like goblins for a topper next to the stem.

My hubby's best friend got married right before Halloween last year. They had a traditional ceremony and a costume reception. It was the most fun we've EVER had at a wedding, including our own!!

The whole shin-dig is in costume for this one . . . the bride and groom are Morticia and Gomez (The Addams Family). Costumes are probably much less expensive than formal wear. I've heard that the wedding favors are 'trick or treat' bags - wish I could've gotten in on making those for them!

Same here! I work for a wedding decorator part-time and Halloween is her most favorite holiday. She has ALWAYS wanted someone to have a Halloween wedding so that she could decorate for it. Her son finally got engaged and told him mom that he was going to finally give her her Halloween wedding. We had a BALL decorating for that one!!!

I made the wedding card for them pretty traditional but the envelope I made Halloweenish.

This is made from PTI's Spooky Sweets and Piece of Cake (I think those are the names of the sets... )

Money was SUPER tight for us at the time so rather than buy a gift, I had a never been used black photo album that I "altered" and a personalized altered picture frame that I had on hand already. I just stuck the colored c/s on the front, added an embellishment and stuck on a pretty ivory ribbon (to add a feminine touch) all the way around so they could tie the album closed. As easy and low-cost as it was, I guess the bride went on and on and on about this gift to my boss. Funny thing was? I had never met the bride before so she had no idea who I was. When my boss asked who gave her this "wonderful gift" she said my name. LOL!!! My boss had a good chuckle.
