I mean...
How do you know when you are a WOW Stamper, or a great stamper, or a fairly okay stamper?
Does it matter if you are good or not? As long as you like to stamp, is that all that matters?
Hmm.....just a thought that I would pose to the masses.
I think Tami has said it best. Everyone develops at a different rate and everyone has different tastes.
I know I have done some cards that I wasn't to pleased with and didn't think were my best work and then have people say how much they like it. So you never really know what is really going to stand out to others.
Does everyone think Mona Lisa is the greatest painting, no probally not. It wasn't even that artists best work in my opionion(SP) but it's still very popular.
I think that you can't help but get better the more you stamp and the more you learn as you go along. When I first started I was pretty bad - I still have those first attempts just for when I get discouraged. I may not be the greatest stamper but I do enjoy stamping and will continue to stamp until I no longer do.
Amy,
I had to stop and catch my breath when I saw your avatar! You have mighty good taste girl!!! And I would bet your cards are just as gorgeous!
I believe that anything made from the heart is beautiful!

Some days, I'm a WOW stamper. Some days, my work looks like I'm coming off a 3 day drunk  No matter what it looks like to me, my mother and kids think I'm awesome!
I think the most important thing is that your work makes you happy.
Good topic,I've wondered too. I know my cards are usually pretty and people like them ( I sold almost 100 at a craft fair last week),my problem is that I can't seem to come up with any original ideas. I copy things I see (usually here on SCS!) and do the same old thing just using different stamps and colors, etc.
stamp2the max, You don't have time to come up with anything original when you hang out here. You see something posted and off you go to try it and before you know it your stampin time is over. It happens to me all the time! Ann
Very Interesting question...I know for me I can spot a WOW stamper when I have to stop and click on the card because it really catches my attention...funny how many WOW stampers we have on here... I really admire those who seem to always make a great card!
The question reminds me of one of my favorite books The Velveteen Rabbit. It's a beautiful story about a stuffed bunny that wants to learn how to become real. If you have children (Kdg-6th grade) it's a wonderful book to check out of the library this holiday season. I won't give the ending away.
Amy - Does it really matter when your avatar is just so darn hot. I will go check our your work if you have any in the gallery after I finally pull myself away from your amazing avatar. Love him!!!!!

I think that everyone here that is willing to share their work are awesome stampers. We are all about sharing and CASE'ing.
When I started stamping I bought stuff to make notecard sets for my sister and sister-in-laws. I can tell you right now that my sister sent me one of those cards the other day. I told her never to send another one of those notecards again. It was SO bad.

My DS in college asked me to send him some of my cards. He needed to send out some thank yous and thought mine were so much nicer than what he could buy from the store. I hope it meant he really liked them and had nothing to do with his birthday being next week and Christmas creeping up fast.
