Lisa, have you tried using the search feature? I did an advanced search on coasters and came up with a ton of threads.

I am bumping this for you because I would also like to know the answer. I have only ever stamped on the tiles.

I don't know the thread you are talking about, but I did see a thing on Carol Duvall I think, the lady used a piece of CS. Painted it (only because she wanted a bright blue color for her coaster), then embossed with Glassy Glaze (or other UTEE) She did about 3 coats of this heating between each coat to melt the powder. Don't know if this is what you're looking for or not.

I also don't know the thread you're talking about, but I think I remember reading somewhere on the 'net that you can make those cardboard coasters by running them through a Xyron with a laminating cartridge.

I read your thread and came to see if I could help you... but you helped me! I have been searching for the very same project idea. I saw it and then went to Chili's, got my coasters but I couldn't remember anything about how to do the project, or even what it looked like. So thanks to jlbech, and to pearlann66. This is why I love SCS!

I found this thread about purchasing paper coasters - perhaps someone who posted may have tips to give you.

Default Paper Coasters (vendor site - not mine - plus tips)

Someone on another group posted the following link. I looked at it and there were some tips (trial and error type):

http://www..com/coasters.html

Anyway, I hope it is helpful. Oh, and I have no affiliation (not even as a customer, at least not yet).

You can buy the hinges from a hardware store in the frame hanging area or you can buy them at almost any LSS. SU has them also.
