Can alcohol inks be used with embossed images?
I am stamping some images to be used in a card kit swap. Would the recipient be able to use alcohol inks pens (Copics) on images heat embossed with black EP? I would try it out first but I don't own any alcohol ink pens...only waterbased.
If no, what is the best ink to use to stamp the images? Thanks |
Just about any die based ink will work, but I like Memento when I'm using my copics...

I use Sharpies & Bic pens with embossed images. No bleeding.

Colored or metallic embossing powder will melt when used with Copic markers. Clear embossing powder is fine to use. If you believe the recipient is going to use alcohol markers, it's best to use a dye ink. We highly recommend Memento.

I've used Copics on embossing with mixed results. Some colors/types will bleed or become discolored. The Copics can take color away from some embossing!

I've not found a problem with clear or non metallic embossing. And even with metallic, Copics will work if you are very careful to colour up to but not over the lines. I highly recommend Memento too but I've also heard that Distress inks work well and my limited use of them has yielded good results.

Adirondack inks are Copic friendly too!
