Default Buttons and ATC's

Hi there! I have two questions that I know will get answered from the fabulous stampers on this site! 1. Does anyone know where to get decorative, cute buttons with only 2 holes? Anywhere online? I have been to Pat Catan's, Michaels, and Jo Ann's...all had a few but not a big selection. I am making these cute button necklaces and I'm addicted! It started out with a kit from a cross stitch store and has gone from there. I hate to keep buying the kits b/c of the cost per necklace and would rather find buttons in bulk. 2. I know that ATC stands for Artist Trading cards but what are their purpose? I saw a couple of fun swaps for them but don't really know what they are used for in order to make them. Thanks in advance for any help and info. provided!

To answer the second part of the question- The purpose of an ATC is about the same as the purpose of a baseball card- to collect!

They are a great way to see a small sample of a technique, to have a piece of "art" from a distant friend, and smaller to hoard than a bunch of card fronts- plus they are sized to fit convienently in the sleeves of a trading card collecting album. I like ATCs because they are cheaper to make for swapping than a cardfront because they use less materials. I also like them because, if you do want to use them, you can make them a feature on the card or scrapbook page, but really they are just pretty to look at.

Default Thank you

Thanks to both of you for your comments. I'll be ordering some Stampin' Up buttons AND joining a ATC swap! Thanks again!

I would just add to this that they are also a way for artists to share their contact info.. like a business card.
