Hopefully I have attached part of a card I am working on. I used the "melted crayon" technique for the background. The flower stem and leaf are from In Full Bloom and stamped in Royal Purple and Forest Green Stazon, highlighted with permanent sharpies, the center is Krylon gold leaf.
My question: what color base card would you use. I've looked at Perfect Plum, Eggplant Envy, Tempting Turquoise and Taken With Teal. I just can't decide. Could you help?
Also, what do you think of what I have done so far: The mounting is Almost Amethyst and crimped Ruby Red.
I don't see my attachment here - hopefully it will be there when this is posted.

Reason: clarity
the attachment is a little off center, but I like the bg that I see!
The amethyst is throwing me off-was that color used in teh bg? It seems more earthy to me. I think mounting it on a color that is in teh bg would make the most sense. To me I see a lof green in the crayon bg, so i would try and go with something that would match. I wouldn't do turquoise since it is so bright. I might mount the stamped/crayon image on black and then mount that on teh rose.
Just my 2 cents;)

Would mounting it on black or navy work????does it need a ribbon....near the bottom of the flower use the black back ground and black'white gingham...I have to look again!!!
I'd take away the purple and maybe use night of navy or not quite navy? I really like the red and the green in the background but the purple doesn't work for me... my 2 cents thats all!
Another vote for black, but one of the naturals or confettie wouldn't be bad either. This is one of those times that I just keep putting the card front on different colors until I go, "Oh, that's it!"

help need advise
Well I thought I was
out
there when I was going to suggest BLACK...but guess some of the
ones with talent" thought the same way...is the flower in black?? if not whatever color that is???
Thank you all for your helpful comments. After I looked at it I did like the black better! I finished it at 5:30 this a.m. and didn't have time to scan it in, but I will when I get home this afternoon.
Here is what I finally did - Black card with 1/3 stamped in gold with French Script bg; got rid of the Almost Amethyst and replaced with Forest Foliage, so now my flower and melted crayon image is on crimped Ruby Red that is matted onto Forest Foliage (with the bottom torn) and the whole is set slightly to the left over the French Script bg. I also added a celery 3/8" organdy ribbon with gold cord wrapped and tied on the fold of the card. I cut off about 1/2-3/4 inch of the side of the card, leaving the inside showing. I plant to stamp that spot with "Thank You" from Wonderful Words and emboss with gold detail embossing.
Thanks again for your help
