Default New SU Demos!

I was just wondering what kind of things all the new Demos (like me) were planning for their first demonstrations or classes?

I haven't sent in my paperwork yet, but hope to tomorrow or this weekend. But I'm planning on having an open house and handing out info on hostessing a party, joining a stamp club and just taking orders that day too. I'll have a couple of make and takes, cards I suppose - not too messy ones!! And just see where that takes me. I've already let a few people know and I hope I get a party out of it, so I can make the minimum - but I forgot I have until the end of June to meet that first minimum so I'm not so worried.

Default Whatever you do, plan it quick!

I would plan something EASY that you can pull off quickly in order to take advantage of Sale-a-Bration.

I had an open house, with close to $400 in sales. Not too bad considering therer were a lot of non-stamping family and friends that came just to show their support.

If you have guests that aren't stampers or scrappers, be sure to point out the Simply Sent kits (oh, look at that, 3 of them qualify instantly for a free SAB set!) and the personalized stamps.

Good luck and welcome to SU. Don't forget to join the demo side here on SCS.

I'm holding an open house too, before the end of February to encourage workshops before Sale-A-bration is over. I'm inviting neighbours and stamping friends but I'm also putting up posters and doing a little free advertising.
I've signed up for the demo forums here and in the process of getting there (I've answered my pm).
I'm also going to have sign-up sheets at the Open House for stamping classes and scrapbooking classes - I'm lucky I have room in my home to host these. I'm so excited to get started!
What does everyone else have planned?

I'm planning an Open House on March 1. I'm inviting EVERYBODY I know, no longer trying to guess who'd like stamping and who wouldn't. (After all, I never thought I'd like it, until I saw them holding a little stamping class in the back of my favorite gift shop.) I have been making numerous copies of a pretty card for my invitations. In the invitations I'm asking people to come out of support for my new venture, whether or not they like stamping. At the party, I intend to do a one-time shameless pitch for my friends to hold a party to see if their friends like card-making. If no one takes up that offer, I'm no worse off than when I originally got the idea for this, to use the discount until I get my watercolor wonder crayons. (Some wise woman here on SCS pointed out that if my friends say "No" to stamping, they're rejecting stamping, they're not rejecting me.)
