excellent! I didn't know they'd deliver on Saturday...and I was worried because I know everyone else in Canada except St. John's has a holiday on Monday. (we had Regatta day last week) Glad they arrived in time! Thanks for letting me know.

I had to pick them up at the postal outlet. No mail here on Saturdays! Hope you enjoyed regatta despite the rain! That was always my favorite time of year in St. John's.

The only reason I enjoyed the Regatta this year was because our office was closed! (the rain was REALLY bad almost all day...concession stands even tried to ask the Regatta committee for a refund!) Did you live in St. John's for a while? (sorry for the hijack!)

Yes, I worked there after college. I'm originally from Labrador City and went to college in Stephenville. Heading over to the rock in a couple of weeks for a week's vacation! I've got my fingers crossed for good weather.

As we wind down this project, I would like to thank everyone who participated, posted their samples, thought of participating, or just took a few minutes to think of our Troops overseas.

I also want to send a big public thank you to Shannon and Nadine, the Eastern Canada coordinators.

Remeber to subscribe to this thread for updates in the coming months, and if you would like to send postcard greetings to the troops, see here....

Kelly:

You are quite welcome for the cards. Only wish that I had more. It was for a great cause and it is nice knowing that the cards that we make will help make Christmas a bit brighter for someone.

Default I just boxed up...

311 of the most georgeous Christmas cards you have ever seen. There was embossing and ribbon and brads and eyelets and crimping and painting and paper piecing and snowflakes and snowmen and stockings and trees and SU images and CTMH images and patterned paper and textured card stock and each one was filled with such love.

It just makes my little heart so happy.

As soon as Nadine and Shannon have a total for me, I will post it.

Thank you to Susan from Winnipeg, Judi from Calgary, and Christine from Fort Saskatchewan, and Hetty from Edmonton. I received your cards just this week.

Gald they arrived. As far as Canada pos is concerned they are still in Winnipeg sorting. So much for tracking. LOL

Congratulations on a successful project.

Tracking sounds good in theory...

Nadine just let me know she received 98. So our total is 409 so far. Here's hoping we make it to 500.

Default We hit over 700!

Yes ladies, give yourselves a big pat on the back. Shannon just let me know she mailed over 300 cards to Ottawa. So did I say WE HIT OVER 700 CARDS!

Hooray for us. This is phenominal for such short notice, and a first time project.

Way to go everone. I only made about half what I was hoping to do and I HOPE we don't need to do this next year (for the whole world peace reason, not because I don't want to make cards for the Cdn troops...) but if we do, I will be challenging everyone to at least DOUBLE whatever they made this time around. A million thanks to Robin for coordinating this - and the the "regional coordinators" for their contributions as well.

Yes, let's pray there will be NO next year. But in case, I have 6 so far. I plan to create some each month. I accept the challenge.

I will definately keep everyone posted. I haven't heard from the Forces contact yet to see what she thought of this. I am hoping they let us do it again next year, but she did say it was a 'One time donation' so let's keep our fingers crossed.
