Question 90% Rubbing Alcohol?

Where can I buy 90% rubbing alcohol? I tried doing the Drunken Chalk technique with 70%, but the paper wrinkled too much. All I seem to find in the stores is the 70% strength. Thanks!

I thought I read somewhere here on SCS that you had to ask the pharmacist, because they usually keep it behind the counter.

You would need to go directly to your pharmacy. They carry it at places like The Medicine Shoppe." Some beauty supply stores carry it as well.

Our Walmart here in Nebraska carries it on the same shelf as the 70% rubbing alcohol.

I was shocked to find the 99% stuff on the shelf at the grocery store.

K-mart and Walmart have it out on the shelves here....I use it all the time for disinfecting doorknobs, telephone receivers and for polishing the chrome on my faucets! Now I know I can do something fun with it - gotta go look up drunken chalk technique. ;) TFS!

Believe it or not, we tried Dollar General (only 40%), Walmart (50%), Walgreens (50%), my pharmacy (60%) and finally tonight by sheer accident I found 90% at the local Kroger supermarket.

I got the 'equate' brand (isn't that WalMart's brand??) that's 70% and so far it works fine - I'll have to ask for the 90% next time I'm shopping and see if I can get some to compare.

Totally off topic here, but I remember from my days in medical technology school that the plain 70% was actually better at killing germs than the 90%. That was many, many, many years ago, but it sticks in my memory because it is opposite of what you would expect.
