Is there any way to make Tangerine Tango look good as the primary color in a card or lay out without it screaming Halloween, fall, or just plain juvenile? I tried searching the galleries for some inspiration with no luck. I mean, everything that came up it was an accent color and I have way too much of it to ever get rid of it by using it to accent. I don't know what I was thinking when I bought it... Any help would be appreciated.
Distress Inks are your friend! When ever I use a color that ends up being too bright, I'll sponge the edges with Distress Inks. It doesn't have to be a dark color either, my two most used colors are Antique Linen and Corduroy. For a bright orange I would use the Corduroy, or, if you have SU colors, try something like Cocoa. It'll tone it right down.
Overstamp with a different colour, as long as you don't use black, lol. Or you can tone a colour down by laying translucent vellum over it, or change its appearance by laying a pale coloured vellum on top, or stamp on the vellum before you lay it on top.
As a card base and also used it while coloring in the flower. If you have the catalog to skim though I think that will be helpful... and maybe last years catalog to get the right color combinations

Thank you for the ideas ladies! if anyone else has anything to add I would appreciate it! I have about 50 sheets of 12x12 to use up and the remainder of my 8.5x11.
pair it with Sahara Sand, Crumb Cake, sponge sponge sponge LOL
Pair it with Melon mambo. black and white for a card that pops!
It works great with groovy guava if you have any of that.
with Daffodil Delight and Garden Green for floral cards

Ok let me see if I can describe what I mean for a card too
Naturals White or Confetti or somethign like that as the base, then TT as a layering piece cut 4x5 1/4 then using a large stamp (I like Medallion along the upper right corner) stamp in TT) Then add a sentiment.

Here's a link to the SCS Color Challenge last October....Razzleberry-Saffron-Tangerines. If you view that gallery, you'll see lots of cards with this combo.
Also, here's a link to a SU Color Lab site where you can click on Tangerine Tango, then Search, to get ideas of what colors to combine with it....My Create Ink - SU Color Lab.
Thank you very much ladies! I will be book marking that color lab site. That has been much more help than my color coach has ever been for me. I also was able to make a 1 page dent into that stack of card stock before I got carried away by rug rats on a rampage. But, that one 12x12 page has given me 2 cards. And one of those will be used here shortly!
