Yes you need it, it adds a neat shimmer to cards. You can get it from Jacksonbelle
You can see it in the BG of this card I spritzed iridescent gold over the finished card.

If you already own Pearl Ex, it can be added to the sample bottles of hairspray for the same effect.

Don't know if you NEED it...I thought I did...bought 6 bottles at 5.95 each..have not used any of them for an actual card....I don't like the warped paper that I get and really not pleased with the overall look.....but I have seen some great stuff that people have done...just not my cup of tea.

If you want to see them in action, check out the video demo I did. I used the Luminarte ones, but I am sure they are similar to the other brand.

Jeanne posted the Shimmer Spray recipe that she uses on her blog:

Shimmer Spray

She also has a close up picture of the card and the shimmery background looks beautiful. ;)

I thought I had to have it and bought two bottles. I can honestly say that they are sitting in a pile ready to be listed on eBay. They are ok, but nothing that is so fantastic that you must run out to purchase tomorrow.

I went to a demo for Glimmer Mist just before Christmas. The lady doing the demo made it look really easy, but when I tried it for myself, I was not happy at all with the blotchy effect that I got. I think it takes a lot of practice to do it right. Plus, it got all over the entire table when she sprayed....she recommended spraying it in a shirt box. I've decided it's not for me.

I'd definitely just buy 1 bottle if you really want to try it. I'm glad that I managed to restrain myself and only buy one . . . waste of $$ to me. While I've seen some very pretty things done with it, it's a very messy product and not at all easy to get an even result.

I actually really like it. I spray it and then use my brayer to evenly coat the paper. I then use my heat gun and it takes the warp right out. I love using these for shimmery backgrounds!

Has anyone tried "painting" with it?

And yes... I'm being lazy because I have some and haven't tried it myself yet
