Smile Desperately Seeking Scallops?

I was, after seeing all the wonderful creations people have been posting using scalloped circles, I so wanted to try making something with a scalloped medallion - and last night's LSC seemed like a perfect time to try!

But....I don't have a scallop punch, the corner rounder, or a split punch (oh, you should see my wish list, it's a mile long).

I tried with scalloped scissors, it just looked messy....so I decided to try using my other small punches, and it worked...here's what I did...

Punch an approx 1" circle and 5 approx 1/2 inch hearts. Depending on the shape of your heart punch (and size of your circle), you may need more, or less. Put adhesive on the back of the circle, and start mounting your hearts on the back, leaving little scallop shapes showing. It can take a little fiddling the first time to get the placement looking right, but I've made 5 of these now, and they come together in a snap.

Here's a link to my card, it's sated my thirst for scallops somewhat, but you can bet the first thing I'll be putting on my SU order form will be the split punch!
