Default Best permanent stamp cleaner ?

I need a cleaner for StazOn ink, something I can get at JoAnn, Hobby Lobby or Michaels (for rubber stamps and acrylics). I got the pad today and it stained my stamp. I guess that's ok.
Thanks.

You can actually purchase StazOn Cleaner at most craft stores.

I *really* love Ultra Clean by Stewart Superior. I believe there are a number of e-tailers that carry it, but I've spotted it specifically at www.stampington.com in their shoppe.

HTH,
Julie,
I just went over there and couldn't find it........now I have a teeny tiny little headache going on and maybe I'm just not seeing it. I looked under Art and Crafting Essentials, and from there alpha listing........am I looking in the right place?

I have to agree with Julie (as I normally do) - I have bought the Ultra clean through Inky Antics as well... it takes my rubbah back to new!

I just bought a bottle of ultra clean and it does work, but I'm finding it very oily. Does anyone else have this problem? It's so oily that it makes my unmounted stamps come unstuck from the acrylic block when I clean them (and I use Aleene's Tack it over and over on the stamps). So, I'm not sure if I'm going to like the Ultra clean. I might just use it for very messy messes, if that makes sense. Just wondering if anyone else has this problem?

Thanks,
Christine

They don't list the chemical components on the bottle, but I think what that actually is is glycerine, which can seem oily, even tho it's not oil.

I asked the manufacturer about this, but he hasn't gotten a response from their chem guy about that yet . . .

ETA: It hasn't been problematic for me, but then, I only spritz very lightly onto my scrubber pad--it only takes a little of this cleaner, and it does stay wet much longer than any other cleaner I've used; I can close the case, come back in a few days, and find it is still wet/active.

The Ultra Clean has done wonders for all the sets I had that were badly stained with all kinds of ink and goo. And frankly, for me, it was better than StazOn All-Purpose Cleaner for Staz On ink! The Staz On cleaner ruined my SU scrubber - there's a gooey tacky mess on it that I just dedicate to that cleaner now and would welcome suggestions as to how to get it off.

I am very sensitive to chemicals and both cleaners do make my fingertips burn - but so does just picking up a potted plant at the garden shop. But I just love that Ultra Clean (I also purchased from Inky Antics) and only wish they sold it in a bigger quantity. I'm gonna to take Julie's advice and spray even more lightly than I have been because I do get an oily residue that lasts for quite awhile but I no longer have to immediately go to clean my stamps when i use Stazon.

Thanks Julie. Maybe I'm just so used to spritzing more. I will try to spritz more lightly. Back to the OP's question - Yes, ultra clean is the way to go for Staz-on. Looks like it's pretty unaminous.

I love, love, love my Ultra Clean (got it from Inky Antics).....just wish it came in a larger refill bottle like SU's mist does. IA tells me that right now all that is available is the 2 oz. spray bottle.

Get some!!!!

I belong to a stamping group in Ontario called Ontario Rubber Stamp Artists, and this question was posed and someone really sang the praises of Simple Green as a stamp cleaner to get the stazon ink off their stamps. I have not yet tried it, but you can bet I will. Simple Green would be much less expensive than the little bottles of stazon cleaner I buy, and of course non toxic.... when you have kids...that would be a BIG PLUS!!

I use 2:1 ratio of water:Simple Green plus several drops of glycerin. Works great!
