Can someone let me know if SU is offering any "extras" if you sign up to be a demo during SAB? I remember that last year they offered 20% off the kit cost -- which would be a relief because it would cover the s/h and tax. (which I HATE to pay!) Also, if I joined in February... when would my quarter close?
If you sign up during SAB you get to pick a free set out of the current (Spring/Summer 2009) catalog. If you started in February, your first full quarter starts April 1st and ends June 30th. Hope that helps!
I have a full quarter to get $300 ordered, right? So, if I joined in May for instance, I would have until end of September?
Catalogs are released in January and July?
You get 30% off you first order of $150 or more?
I think I read somewhere that this year demos are also offered a 30% discount on products ordered from mini catalogs? Is this for ALL minis? When would this end?
Yes, SAB runs through March 31, 2009. A new recruit gets to select any set (up to $47.95) from the new Spring Summer Catalog.
Here is a link on the SU website (perhaps you have already read it) with info on becoming a demo: http://www.stampinup.com/us/enu/546.asp If you click around on the links in there you will get to lots of information.
Once you sign up, you don't have to make your minimum until the following quarter.....so if you sign up in March, you would have until the end of June. If you sign up in May, you would have until the end of Sept. The next new catalog will come out July 1st. And yes, you would get a discount of 30% off your first order of $150 or more in your first 45 days as a demo. Let us know if you have any more questions!
So it goes by true "quarters"? I do CM they will start you over if you reach your min. IE If I start in jan I have till March 30 to qualify. If I get my min Feb 15 then my new "quarter" starts on March 1. Is this how SU runs? I have been thinking of signing up as demo. Just not sure I want to get jammed with min due in the same month.

It's been a 20% discount on all stamp sets in the Previews and Mini Catalogs - I'm not sure when this ends but as it was in celebration for SU's 20th Anniversary and they stated it would be all year long, and as it started on July 1st I am imagining it will end on June 30th, at the end of the SU year...

Oops. Sorry for my earlier post. I was correct in saying we hadn't been "told" about any promos during SAB, but I hadn't yet read my SAB catalog. Did that today waiting for an appointment. So now I've been "told" about the free $47.95 set!
Jody, if you were to join in January, your minimum is not due until June.
I have been thinking about joining SU as a demo so if I join this month my minimum is not due until June?
Correct - the quarter that you sign up in is waived (thus the Jan-Mar quarter wouldnt count) - your first real quarter would be Apr-Jun and would end on June 30th so you would have almost 6 months to make $300 in sales (which is your minimum quarterly sales requirement) :-)

If you're thinking about becoming a SU demonstrator while still doing CM, that wouldn't be allowed because they're competing. I might be confused, but when you said "due in the same month" it sounded like you wanted to do both.
