Smile Before I was a stamper...

I used to use these things as a homemaker:
Waxed paper
An iron
Bleach
Swiffers
Floor wax
Sponges
Soap Bubbles
Freezer Paper
Rubbing alcohol
Salt
Paper towels

My husband used have tools like:
A hammer
Mineral Spirits
Sandpaper

I used to look good with:
Shaving cream
Cotton Balls
Eye shadow applicators
Nail Files

My home office used to have:
paper clips
Labels
Post it notes
Tissue paper
Sharpies
A ruler
A stapler
A hole punch

NOW- My house is a mess and I'm a mess. A big happy mess! And every single one of those things is in my stamp room!
You too?

Hugs,
Gina K.

Please allow me to add qtips, baby wipes, rolling pin, paper plates, aluminum foil and a clip board to your list. And does your laptop and vacuum cleaner have permanancy in your craft room? My DH still can't find his drywall tape!

Can't imagine what you're doing with drywall tape, but I have just added weather stripping to my list of supplies.

I think the whole hardware store can be repurposed. I've got window screen, copper roof flashing, aluminum tape, flat washers, ceramic tile, metal mesh gutter cover material, painter's tape . . . If I start raiding the sporting goods store, my DH won't have a safe haven left!

Fabulous observation Gina. Loved reading it and thanks for sharing your thoughts with us...of course now when my husband needs a tool he looks in my craft space before looking in the garage.

This is the only place I can admit this, but....

I actually had to go out to buy an iron and ironing board - no, I didn't need it to actually iron (that's why they invented dry cleaners for those garments), I needed them to craft !!!!

Oh yeah and my hubby thinks I'm insane that I now open anything with a pop top upside down instead of using the pop top! Haven't tried it yet, but I'm saving them to do at Christmas time for gift cards, jewelry, etc.

Oh, how I love this thread! What a hoot! Seriously, though, isn't it neat that we can find all these uses for such mundane objects? I don't throw anything away anymore until I examine it from every angle to see if there is something else it can be used for.

Drywall tape is like magic mesh. LOL! You can ink it up with a brayer and change the color. Aren't we an insane little bunch?

I asked my DH to save me a cereal box, or two, one time. Now whenever he runs out of cereal, I find the empty box sitting at my place on the table. Believe it or not, because of your post, I just figured out why. Thought he left it for me to throw out. Guess he's being thoughtful. Love him lots.

I love this thread. When I read the first list, I thought to myself...me too, but now I still use those things...just for stamping instead!

I'm curious, what do you use weather stripping for?

Too funny. Isn't it amazing what has migrated from various rooms of the house to our stamp areas/stamp rooms? I now frequent the hardware, fishing and sporting good stores with hubby because they have waaaaay cool stuff there. Somehow items from those stores follow me home too! Hubby couldn't get why I needed rubber gasket material for stamping...
