For those of you who have gone unmounted and store in CD cases, how do you label the spine? I have unmounted all my SU stamps and need to label the spines, but can't find something that will look good. Any ideas? Pictures would be great too!
1. the Brother label maker has just come out with a tape that fits the spines of CDs -- however, I can't find the tape in stock anywhere. It is called Brother extra-narrow 9/64" CD-spine labels. This tape will only fit into certain Brother label makers.
2. Avery 8692 label is designed to fit on a CD spine.
3. You can buy a fine Sharpie pen and carefully write on the spines.

I used Word, went to labels and they actually have a template for CD spine labels. Typed it all up in the table, printed onto plain white cardstock, cut out, put a small glue dot at each end on the printed side, stuck it to the inside of the CD case so it will stay nice and neat and voila...they all have the same font and look nice.
I also used a small colored dot sticker (avery) to identify brands (I don't know why...at the time, it seemed like a good idea)

Reason: add word doc
I do pretty much the same thing as pammers, but I just use an Elmer's glue stick on the front of the label before putting it inside the case. I think this is a great way to do it because they won't get dirty or worn looking and you don't have to spend your money on label tapes.
Wow, great ideas! Thanks for sharing the template Pammers - not sure why I didn't think of glueing to the inside. I like the idea that they will stay nice and clean!
100 sheets for $18.95. I actually did a share buy with them because there are 80 labels per sheet and I didn't need 8000 labels.
I used this same vendor.. After ordering I discovered they are right in my town!! I even paid two day air!! DUHHHH!!!!! You can see how neat they look on the left hand side of the pic
I use a $5 Dymo hand labeler (with the embossed plastic tape). It hangs over the teeniest tiniest bit off the spine, but that hasn't bothered me so far, it's been over a year since I did that, love it!
I buy printable full sheet labels, cut them into 1/4" x 4 1/4" strips and write on them and then stick them on the spine. I'm too lazy to print them out on my computer and just write on them with a fine tip colored Sharpie. I do color code and alphabetize my sets though. (Messy one place, neat in another.)
