Default Which Background Stamps?

I've decided to get 3-4 background stamps (*gulp*) and am having trouble deciding which ones...

Which ones would you get? Which ones have you used the most or are most versatile? Thanks!

I'd go linen first, hands down. It's just so flexible that you can use it with almost anything. Canvas works equally well too, but I've not felt justified in buying it since I already have linen. Print pattern is a close second--not quite as flexible but really cool. After that, it depends what sets you have and what would work best with them.

Good luck--you won't regret it!

I voted for Linen because it is the next one I want to purchase. I have Canvas and Print Pattern and I love them both. I also want French Script. I would have Linen and French Script already, if I had a larger stamping budget to work with. I like being able to add different 'textures' to paper via background stamps. Canvas and linen seem to be the most versatile to me.

Let us know which ones you pick!

I wish I could have voted for 3 - 4. If I could have, they would have been: linen, print pattern, french script and paisley

I voted Linen, and then I would suggest Print Pattern. Then I would say either Paisley (which I adore!) or Floral. That would give you a real range of options.

The 3 I would say are must haves are linen, print pattern and French script. Then for #4 I would add paisley or floral - depending on your style.

I voted for Print Pattern - it's VERY versatile. I also would have voted for French Script, Floral and Canvas/Linen. I think you can get by with one or the other but don't need both right away. (PS - As a gal that has Canvas - I'd get Linen instead.)

I love my canvas and print pattern too. The next one I want to get is the french script. So my vote is based on what I've used the most.

I tend to use rollers for BG. There is another thread about using window screen and brayers to reproduce a woven BG. You could use bubblewrap to make a dotted BG. So I voted for paisley since it's the only way to get that effect.

Default Yay for Backgrounds!

Thanks everyone for your input and advice! Looks like linen/canvas are a must have...and I *think* the others I'll get are print pattern, paisley, and maybe french script.

Can't wait to get them!!

I voted for Linen - it's by FAR the most versatile, IMO! Flowed by Print Pattern, French Script, Fine Lace, and Paisley, in that order.

I voted for Canvas as the first one to buy. However, if you are going to buy four, I would suggest these four:

-Canvas
-Floral
-French Script
-Print Pattern

These 4 are a good variety, that you could use in so many ways.

I LOVE my BG SU stamps!

Linen was my vote, and is the one that draws my eye the most in the gallery. After that would be French script, and either floral or paisley, depending upon your style, as stated above. I personally am lukewarm to print pattern, but have seen some nice examples where it has been used. After hours of perusing the gallery, I know this is the order I will be using for adding to my collection!
