SU spray scrub is the best, but when it comes to metallic and craft pads
Baby wipes RULE!!!! Most no longer have alcohol in them. And at Stamp Camp it's great to have wipes at each table too!
I have a stampin scrub, but I refuse to use it! I hate it! Every time I wipe a stamp on it, it gets full of the little black hairs and then my image doesn't stamp right. I got sick of wiping off the hairs everytime I had to use it and gave it away.
I also use baby wipes (have been for years) with no alcohol and love them. I just put a couple in the lid of the wipes container and stamp off when I'm finished.

That happened to me at first too, I parked it.....then got heck from someone on this board...because I hadn't washed it first!
I used only baby wipes, or a diluted mix of windex and water....now I pretty much ONLY use my stampin' scrub and mist.....with the exception of pigment ink...I still use a wipe for those...BEFORE I use my stampin' scrub!

I was an avid Mist and Scrub person, until they changed the mist - PEW!!! I just opened a new refill bottle and it was all perfume-y and stunk up the entire house (ok, a small exaggeration, but not much...). It really bummed me out, b/c I normally LOVE the smell of stampin' mist. Now I need to find something else to use because I can't tolerate the new "scent" - blech!!
The original post stated the wipes would eventually damage your ink pads. Any of you who have been using wipes for years have a problem with your pads?
What a subject. I have a love hate relationship with both the stamp n scrub and with baby wipes.
I thought the scrbber was a genious idea and was so glad to see it in my kit........then I used it and fell out of love quickly. Black ink staining it and black hairs all over the stamps. Also staining my blocks ( I use to varnish but takes to much time)
Moved on to baby wipes.....love them.....but hate that I use so many.
Started to lay one wipe on the wet side of scrbber and then use dry side. I still use to many!
So now that this thread was started I am going to try my scrub again. I will wash again and brush and then vaccum it. If this does not work....back to wipes.
My neighbour uses a dinner plate lays a paper towell down wets it and it works also. Just have to let the stamp sit ther and it sucks the ink off.
I would like to see stampin up come out with wipes......but I will use to many of them also
Another idea is wipes and buying flat paint edgers that have the same feel as the scrubber. Customer showed me that and they are cheap and usually white.
Not sure if this has already been mentioned but I have been having a problem with the last two boxes of baby wipes I've bought .(different brands) ...... they've both left traces of lint (fibres) on the stamp and I've had a terrrible time trying to pick the pieces out of my stamps.
I paint too and use baby wipes for things there. One thing you should look for are wipes w/o all the additives like lanolin, etc. Huggies makes a really good natural.

Finally, another windex user...I learned many yrs ago (before the Internet became popular) to use windex...
I usually take the stamps to the sink and spray well with windex (undiluted) and then rinse real well... Have bought wipes to use, but they usually dry out before I get to use them... Have recently found out that I can re-wet them by adding water...
Have even used windex to clean the stamps at work and the sponge ink pad there, as it is open all the time and gets filled with lots of paper dust..

My experience is the cheaper the wipe the less fiber issues. My favs are the Equate ones from Walmart. I buy them in the really, really big bags. I can use a wipe for lots of stamping if I keep it in the container and just wipe across it. I use a wipe for probably 20-30 cleanings. Then I turn it over and use another dozen times.

Ok - All you baby wipe users sound so convincing that I'm going to give it a shot - especially when using the metallic and craft pads. :?
One reason why I have liked the stampin scrub and mist is because I clean my stamps so many times when stamping that it would be a pain to clean them at the sink each time. Baby wipes would be much more convenient.
Now that the MIST has such a strong perfume scent (especially to those of us who are sensitive to fragrances), mild smelling baby wipes may be the perfect solution.
I'm a baby wipe stamp cleaner almost 95% of the time (need to use Stazon Cleaner for those nasty super-permanent inks ). My problem recently is that I have used up all my favorite wipes (Chubs in a yellow canister) and have been bouncing around trying to find something that works as well.
My main bugaboo with is wipes is that I hate for them to leave fibers on the stamps. Second, I want for them to be juicy - the ones I've been buying recently are on the dry side. I, too, use the wipe tons of times before it's discarded (I keep it in a tiny tupperware container on my stamping table). The third thing I look for is a reasonably small container - I have limited space on my workspace and I like to keep the container at one end. (And it goes without saying that there is no alcohol in them and that they are not highly perfumed!)
Any favorite wipe brands that might fit my criteria? I'll check out Equate, for sure.
