Hi all: I have an elderly lady - fixed income, widow - in my church that would like to buy a box of 25 All Occassion cards from me. I know that I cannot charge her what I would usually charge, but I don't know what price to give her. Does anyone have any sugestions? These would probably be pretty simple cards - 2 layers, maybe a ribbon or eyelets.

Not knowing your situation and not much of hers - is there some way you could make it a gift for her? That would be way easier if it were 8 or 10 cards instead of 25. Or swap the cards for something she has, or a service she can provide... Just a thought. Good luck - and I know others will come up with far better ideas.
I charge one dollar per card for church use. If you are wanting to give her a break, and also make them simple, I would do the one dollar deal for her too.
that's a little tough as you probably don't want to charge her what they are worth. Would it work to make them all the same? Maybe use Sincere Salutations or something like that to put different occasions on them but not change the card itself? It's less time-consuming to do 25 of the same cards than 5 cards of 5 different designs. To say $2 per card for hand-made cards doesn't sound expensive, but when you x that by 25 cards--that may be a little steep for her. Maybe if you said $1.50 per card and then thought of it as doing something you love for someone else--that would make up the difference? I was in this same situation when an elderly woman we bring to church wanted cards to give as gifts to her daughters and sisters.
I would do $1 per card if I were you. That is the cheapest she can buy cards in a store anyway. You will still likely make 50 cents per card. Although that isn't much, it is a special case.

Every fall I do a bazzarr at our local nursing home..These people are on a fixed income so I don't charge my normal price.....$1.25 -1.75 depending on the card. And since they are buying 25 I probabaly would let them have them for 1.25 a card..thats what I'd do...thanks julyn

Thank you all for your replies and suggestions. I was playing around with $1 per card. When I told DH of my dilemma and asked his opinion, he asked me what made me think she couldn't afford to pay $25 for the box. I had no reply to that! The lady had mentioned after Sun. a.m. church that she needed birthday card for Monday evening. I let her look through my sample book at the evening service and told her to pick out one she liked. When she did that and asked how much, I told her it was a gift and she didn't have to pay. When I came back to my seat from playing the piano there was a $1 bill in my bag. I'm thinking she probably wouldn't accept them for free, though I think I will just give her a box of 25 and if she pays me anything I will put it in our church building fund or something.
Again, thanks for all your suggestions!

ask her to "pay it forward"...maybe she can send one of the cards to another needy person in the church to brighten their day...or put any money she would pay in the collection box...
Barter. I hate baking (not good at it) I'd give her the cards for some banana bread or whatever she'd like to make. Or like others said, make them as a gift.
