Default Assembling Cards for Others

My cousin asked me to create and assemble 50 thank you notes for her to use in her reality business. No problem. She bought all of the paper and a stamp pad. I am using my own adhesive and about 60-70 inches of my ribbon.

I am wondering what some of you charge to do this type of thing for others, if anything. I am doing this as a favor for her, so I am not charging. I am just curious. It has been a lot more time consuming that I intially thought. I should have know because I have made Christmas card in the past.

If she bought all of the supplies from you, you are making the instant income and volume rebate etc. I would determine how many hours it would take and charge an hourly rate. That rate will differ depending on where you live etc., don't undervalue your worth! How much does she make an hour in her job??? I know this doesn't totally answer your question but it might give you something to think about. Good luck!

Forgot to add--I would certainly charge her for the ribbon and adhesive. You will use a lot of adhesive making 50 cards! Even if your labor is a favor for her she should be willing to pay for ALL of the supplies.

I didn't realize that you were not a demo--sorry! But that makes it even more important to charge a fair hourly wage for your service. Your time and creativity are valuable.
