Appeal for Spanish Stamp Sets/Sentiments for Ministry
I'm planning to start a card-making ministry for girls at a home for abused girls in Guatemala and I need some Spanish sets, exp. sentiments. Does anyone have Spanish sets that they would be willing to donate to this ministry? I'm willing to reimburse for postage.
Ten years ago, I went on a mission trip to this home for abused girls in Guatemala and taught them how to make greeting cards. I took card kits and supplies with me for them to make cards which I brought back to my church where I sold them. This sale raised $1000 which I sent back to help support this mission.
Now I have learned that some older girls live in an independent home associated with the mission and they are creating items to sell in order to raise money to support themselves. Talking with the head of the mission, she thinks this would be another great way for the girls to raise funds, esp. since finding greeting cards in the Guatemalan market places is all but impossible.
In addition to some basic cardmaking tools which I left there, they have a scant few Spanish stamps that I left with them in 2010. They will need additional Spanish sentiments in order to create suitable cards to sell. I will supply all the cardstock they need, but they really need stamps. I searched on eBay but there are hardly any Spanish sets being offer and none that seemed suitable.
Thanks for reading my posting and please let me know if you can help. Thank you so much, Pam
Do they have to have sentiments? Leaving them without a sentiment makes them suitable for all occasions…
I used to make cards for my aunt who lived in Colombia. I sent her cards and her favorites were the ones with english sentiments because they were different from what anyone could get there. She fell in love with the craft and when she started making them on her own, would often leave them without sentiments so they could fit more occasions.
Just food for thought…
Lovely thing you are doing. Thanks for being the hands and feet

Adriana, Thank you for your reply and suggestion. I had planned to leave some blank, but I really think they might like some with Spanish sentiments. I'll touch base with the mission director and see what her thoughts are on using English sentiments.
So neat that you turned your aunt into a cardmaker. :-) Pam
Lawn Fawn has a spanish set in their scripty series at Simon says stamp but of course elsewhere too
ETS: Actually I am wondering if you appeal directly to the companies and tell them why you want them and can show them some kind evidence you are on the level...I bet they may give them to you.

Thank you for these great suggestions. I also found Zazzle but their stamp are a bit too pricey for me. Pam
I use the computer to type sentiments then translate them to desired language.
Print on cardstock cut to desired size if using on card front, or type up a card insert and translate and add to inside.
