Anyone have or have used a silent setter?
 

I love my SU eyelet's and I am buying them most all the time. BUT I have a HUGE supply of "other" eyelet's and need a good setter.

Anyone tell me about it!

I haven't used it yet - nor do I own one yet. Although I'm working on my DH to buy it for me!! However, I have heard that it works excellent on SU eyelets (softer metal) but only so-so on Making Memory eyelets (thicker metal).

I have the silent setter and love it. As long as I stand to set my eyelet it is easy as pie. I have used different brands of eyelets and they all seem to work fine.

I have it too and love it, love it, love it. I've tried many different setters and this one is so simple to use and set them beautifully. I highly recommend it! I haven't tried other brands with it, just SU and the eyelets it came with. I just wish SU would carry it so that I could demo it because it is so quick and easy!!!

I tried mine for the first time tonight. First using the eyelets that came with the setter and then using eyelets from Making Memories. It was a breeze with the eyelets that came with it, but I had to use a lot of pressure on the MM eyelets. I'm still glad I bought it.

Where did you get the silent setter? I have heard lots about it but never seen one?

I am geting one soon, I have $40 to use at the scrapbook store, I have earned by filling punch cards, and they just got them in, so I am gettng one and calling it my own BD present. I am excited, was gonna go tonite, but had to bowl instead, so hopefully by the end of this week I will have one. Cant wait to try it. I am one of those who pounds or wants too after DH goes to bed. :lol:

I'm not a SU demo and I'm not familiar with the silent setter, but I do own a Home Pro LR and love it. It comes with various size bits to insert for the tiniest eyelets up to larger grommets and rivets. It also comes with bits for punching the holes, too if you want to change it out. I usually punch holes separately so I don't have to switch it out, but I have it if I want to punch holes in larger items. The LR stands for long reach. This model sits on the table and has about 5" or so for inserting paper. (I'm at my computer, so this isn't exact). The top lever is operated with a heavy duty spring lever that is adjustable to your choice of pressure.

It also has an additional tool kit you can buy to secure decorative metal corners. These are cool!

I have enjoyed using it and it is quiet. I'm not associated with them, just a happy customer. I can email a link to an online company that sells these if anyone would like more info.

I have the ziosion? Setter from provo craft LOVE IT!!!!!!! Works like a charm. Got mine from www.cleardollarstamps.com for $ 18.00

I have the silent setter by provocraft and I LOVE IT! It is easiest to use while standing up. I've noticed that "harder" eyelets don't work as well. SU!'s are softer, so they are perfect.

I have seen this at hobby lobby for $19.99. I would like one, but something else always jumps out at me! Maybe next time...

I LOVE my silent setter! Got it at Hobby Lobby for $20.00. Works like a charm - I had to use it at my last stamp camp because there were so many ladies, and they were so impressed at how easy it was! I was just sad to have to say it wasn't SU. And I am impressed because they are not having to pound on my dining room table (one gal pounds so hard she was making marks on my table THROUGH the CM cutting mat! :evil: ). Now she is no longer doing that thanks to my silent setter!

I got mine right as it came out and I LOVE it. I live in an old apartment building and my down stairs neighbor is a real stick in the mud and can hear me when I set my eyelets. So now problem is solved with it so if the noise is a problem where you are I would say it is a MUST HAVE!
