SIMONSAYS - Stay AWAY!!!

Update, 14 days and my items are still not here. Never got a response to my request for the correct tracking number (the one "Heidi" sent was for a package that went to Washington state, I am in VA!). I gave up and filed a dispute with paypal. Hated to go that way, but if they won't answer my emails, I had no choice. Will update here with outcome on this. Learned my lesson, ALWAYS review feedback on ebay, no matter if they are a power seller or not, AND research company on Splitcoast first!!!! Above all else!! FYI-I never saw their ads here, I just unfortunately found them on ebay as they had Pennyblack stamps I wanted....

I have recently ordered from them. I live in Canada so I will let everyone here know how it goes. It usually takes 10 business days to receive something from the U.S. the 10 days are not up yet. The problem I had with them was actually paying for the item through paypal.

OMG'sh, the same exact thing happened to me. I ordered on 2/23. It arrived a day or two ago. After I emailed several times. And I also the momento ink. Went to Hobby Lobby in the meantime because it was taking so long. Wish I'd seen the threads about this place a month ago.

Its like they print off the shipping label but don't actually give it to a mail carrier until 3 weeks later.

I got a mean email from Heidi, she wasn't happy that I left honest feedback about how her company operates. Oh well! I sent her an email back outlining the entire ordeal pointing out where she lied over and over. I guess she'll have to just come to terms that she is in the wrong. Sending me a package out dated 2/17 is NOT acceptable when it arrives on 3/16. And she even told me that she sent a 2nd one out on the 9th.. LIES LIES LIES!

Default Update...SimonSays

I am happy to report that I have received a refund through Paypal from SimonSays. I filed a dispute with Paypal on Tuesday. I checked my email this morning and I have confirmation from Paypal that my $$ is back (in full). I also had an email from Heidi, which was very courteous. Interestingly, my order was for a set of Memento Markers and 2 Pennyblack stamp sets. It seems the Memento items cause a real issue. Anybody have a good source for Pennyblack clear sets???

Maybe they just can't seem to handle the memento stuff.. perhaps they do the orders from another location? My email from Heidi was very very defensive and she stated how hard they work for their customers and stuff. I feel bad if that is true but its hard to believe it if they are shipping late and not being careful. I won't be ordering from them again so it doesn't matter anymore anyway. I just hope everyone that is waiting for their items do get it.

Part of me wants to place an order just to see how long it takes to get to me (as I live 20 minutes away from their business address). Theoretically it shouldn't take more than three days (one to pack, two to ship). It would be an interesting experiment, but it may be more expensive than it's worth.

Their reputation here is speaking for itself...It looks like they sell a lot of stuff..but I wonder how many people actually come back. I am sure some people get their stuff quickly...but you can only get so many negative remarks especially on the shipping end of things and remain active on Ebay. I think when you get down to a 4.2 rating that is the cut off. Not positive..but pretty sure.
Blessings.

I agree - HM stamps is really a good place and he only carries Penny Black - save yourself the pain of ordering from Simon Says Stamp. In my experience - having ordered from them about? 3 times as I have stated earlier - I WOULD NEVER PURCHASE FROM SIMON SAYS AGAIN!!!

This thread was really interesting! I, too, have had trouble with Simon Says Stamp. I'm sorry you all have had to deal with this but I actually feel a little better knowing I am not alone.

Not trying to down play the problems everyone has experienced, but I just had 5 sets purchased from ebay over last weekend show up with no problem. I have ordered from them before and no problems. In my years off ebay, there have been issues with some sellers where items were really slow in arriving but I have gotten everything in perfect shape. Sometimes things happen - Lord knows I have made plenty of mistakes. Sorry for those who have has such bad experiences.

Whoooo hooo...torinogt...that is awesome...there are way too many honest companies with good service out there to be ordering from those who dont care. 7kidscollegefund is one of my favorite places to order from. I will have to try HM stamps soon.

Perhaps they just had a run of bad months? I hate to bash any company, but they do need to do a better job if they want to be considered reputable. I am glad to see they are at least starting to run more smooth... at least for this one order.

I wish I had seen this thread a month ago and I never would have used SimonSays but consider I got off lucky as my order arrived today. It only but took 30days to arrive!!! I'm in the UK so think it must have paddled its way across the pond.....
I had email exchanges with Heidi too but in fairness all my queries were replied to.
HM Stamps are great to deal with, I have used them many times with no problems and great communication. He sends out a great newsletter too and has lots of 'retired' PB stamps available. Would recommend any one who likes PB to check out his site.

One thing I dont like about their listings -- well, I doing a general search for Stampin Up stuff on ebay a few weeks ago and I ran across the their store. They were advertising a current set (I cant remember which one, but it was definitely a current one) as RARE and HARD TO FIND. Ok, mistakes can be made but they are in the business of selling stamps and I think they KNOW which SU sets are retired and which are not, because I have come across several of their listings that say certain sets as rare and hard to find, when they are in fact still current. That in itself turns me right off of them. Just my opinion.

I don't think its just a bad few months. Seems like I've heard bad stuff for 3 or 4 years now. But thats nice of you to give them the benefit of the doubt!

I agree with you homestead - Marcie!! My bad experiences with Simon Says Stamp were 3 years or so ago.

Another great vendor to deal with is RK Stamps.. RK stamps is HM stamps niece - and she sells House Mouse, Great Impressions, Northwoods and Peanuts stamps. RK stamps - Ally is her name - has super service - really quick and personal - lots of inventory - and great shipping prices. I've dealt with her many times and just received about 8 house mouse and gruffie stamps - Great service and prices!!!

I've ordered from them and had no problems whatsoever. Everything was neatly packed and items were shipped in a reasonable time. They even refunded me part of the shipping costs AFTER I had paid for the order. I had sent a message asking for a combined shipping discount and they didn't get back to me but I noticed the shipping price on my invoice had changed, so I paid for the order. After that I received a message saying they had managed to lower the shipping $5 from the amount I actually paid. I let them know I had paid another amount and if they could issue a refund and they issued the refund for the difference that same day!

I purchased from them last year and although the package took a month to arrive (UK) - after several emails (all replied to) everything was OK.
Packages usually arrive in 7-10 days from US to me so I have never used them again - just didn't feel right .......
Hope this helps and fingers crossed all will be well for you

Keep in mind that this thread is nearly 2 1/2 years old, so hopefully things have improved. I just received my order from them. There was some confusion over whether some of the items were a pre-order but it arrived in reasonable time. They don't send as much communication as other companies, but when I emailed Customer Service they did respond promptly, although not with a particularly useful answer.

I'm sure your order will be fine.

Would love to see some newer feedback on this company. You see their name all over the place. I am curious if they are still operating the same way? I have considered ordering from them and would rather save myself the trouble if they have not changed their ways.

ETA: On a funny note, I just saw a Tweet this morning by someone who is wondering where their Simon Says Stamp order is, as it is late.

I placed an order on 1/19. My account history on their website says it shipped on 1/20. Per the tracking number, the PO didn't get it until 1/23. Today it's in my area and out for delivery. This is the third order I've place with them, and I've received my orders in about a week.

Also, I won a $50 GC from them from an online scrapping event, and I cashed that puppy in with no problems either.

I have no problem ordering from them, but I do tend to shop there when I can't get items from other sources firs, because I can usually get some sort of discount somewhere else.

This thread was started almost three years ago, things change. I placed an order Friday night and got an email yesterday saying it has shipped. Hoping it will be here by the weekend. Seems reasonable so far.
Right now they are probably fairly busy since anyone taking the online card class gets a discount.

I was really worried when I saw this thread... I'm waiting for an order from them now. I had a notice that my order has been shipped on the 19th so we will see... sometimes it takes awhile for orders to come across the border. I have had super service from 1-2-3 Stitch!

I ordered from them a couple of years ago and my order took forever to get to me, I did order off of there eBay site instead of the online site.

I ordered from them in November 2010 and my order arrived within 2 weeks, which is fast for orders coming to Canada. I ordered a couple of more times just before Christmas and my orders were here the week after Christmas.

I would say that there shipping problems from a couple of years ago have been changed.
