Anyone else who doesn't have SU!?
I am fairly new to this stamping addiction, have spent way too much money already (Teehee!) and will continue to do so I'm sure, but as much as I like some of the SU! sets, I don't expect to go that route- I have a good friend who's a CTMH demo and I love hitting the local shops to acquire supplies and such (I think it stems from my quilting roots- I like to get my hands on things before deciding to buy!). My question is, who else on SCS doesn't work primarily with SU! goodies- I would love to see your galleries and what you've done with other companies goodies. I know I can search the galleries for CTMH/TAC, but it doesn't turn up much in the way of results and there are lots of other companies available locally and I want to see samples! I will still ooh and aah over all of the beautiful SU! things but what's being done with other stuff?
TIA
Suzy

i am a SU! girl (with a little other stuff) not a demo just a 'regular'
i love the gallery for inspiration... find a color scheme or layout that you like and just insert the stamp design that YOU have. i do this alot because i don't have nearly as many sets as some of these girls do.
just make it your own!
good luck and happy stamping!
have you heard of the bellas? stampingbella.com
you can put bellas in the search in the gallery (here at SCS)... these girls are adorable- they may or may not be your style.

I do have a lot of SU sets(thats where I got started and I used to be a demo) however,my gallery has very few SU cards in it. I lean more towards Art Impressions, Inky Antics,Great Impressions, A Muse,Rosie's Roadshow,Northwoods, Stamps by Judith...just to name a few!!!! I guess its because I see so many cards here with SU that I want to do something different....it gets old seeing the same stamp 100 times a day. SU has great products....don't want to step on any toes.

www.cdstamps.com has a great idea gallery that showcases their stamps. It is not nearly as big as the gallery here but it does have some good ideas.

I have a wide assortment of supplies and stamps from many different companies. The ratio is probably 50/50 for me. I only buy what I like at the time, which doesn't mean I will like it later.

i have a little of everything! i am just getting started too, so at this point i do have more SU stamps, ink pads,as a friend is a demo. but i have bazzill paper among others. i also jsut got introd to CTMH and have a few things coming from them. for me the only rule i have is if i like it i get it! it doesnt really matter what company makes it, as long as i think/know i will use it and it wont sit on the shelf for ever. plus SCS is great to get feedback on all items and techniques, thanks to them my wish list keeps getting bigger and bigger!
if you find a place that does help showcase how to use other stamps i am sure many here will love to know too. good luck and happy stamping!

There's a lot of Hero Arts in my gallery. When I started, I bought everything anywhere, but now I limit myself to mostly SU and HA now 'cause the coordinating of different product lines was just beyond me, LOL!
Have fun and welcome to SCS!

At the risk of making "waves" here...I own exactly 1 SU set...and I confess I've never used it. I believe they have good quality materials, and much of it is very cute, but...it's just not my style. I love looking through the gallery and am in awe of the talent here and I do "borrow" ideas to use with other stamps and such.
So, I guess I'm in the minority here, but everyone is pretty forgiving, hehe

Thanks for the responses so far ladies! Just to clarify, I am absolutely NOT saying I don't like or want anything from SU!- love the cards in the gallery that I've seen, have drooled over more than one set from the catty and maybe some day I'll go there, just for the moment I'm choosing to support my good friend with CTMH or my LSS! I've already CASED a few things I've seen done with SU! stamps/inks, etc and will continue to seek inspiration from them, am just looking for examples of things people have made with other product lines without haivng to search for the proverbial needle in a haystack! All that searching takes away from crafty time! LOL
Thanks again
Suzy

Suzy, I had fun last night browsing through Barbra's (barbra1224) gallery. She uses a lot of non-SU stamps. So does Anna Wight (Sweetmissdaisy)who actually designs stamps for Whipper Snapper!
Also check out Jeanne S and, of course, her royal rubberness, Julie Ebersole (JulieHRR)!
Those are just a few names off the top of my head.
You can do a search for just about anything in the gallery; by subject (dog or cat) or technique, or company, or someone's name. Have fun! Oh yeah, join the Splitcoast Fan Club! By joining you get to support this awesome site and see a new gallery each month done by amazing stampers, known as the Dirty Dozen.

I love SU and own probably 200+ sets but then i have every other line too. I am not real big into Acrylic stamps but I do have a few CTMH sets along with TAC sets and along with Penny Black, Hero, House mouse and every other line that's out there. I am a professional collector lol

I like SU but I don't think it is the only way to go. I know some people who exclusively use SU but I couldn't. There is so much cool stuff out there. But I wouldn't not get some SU stuff! They have great card stock, and it's nice to have colors that match. They also have some pretty awesome stamps. I get lots of paper from them but I do hate their ink pads.

Most of my stamping stuff is not SU; I'm wracking my brain trying to think of others who also use other companies' stuff. Two names that come to mind are kellybee and jestermann.

Yes..the colored card stock is nice...but...the white card stock I find inferior compared to my LSS or other places on the internet..actually...it sucks.....however...I do like their stamp pads...so everybody has opinions.........

Most of my stamps are non-SU...mostly because I'm not thrilled with their angel policy (copyright policy as regards selling stamped items) and I prefer to buy unmounted stamps....you're welcome to check out my gallery and blog!

most of my supplies are non-SU.. i love their product, but i'm like you and like to browse my LSS and touch and hold things.. I always feel i have to make a big order with SU to make up for the shipping, and it's hard for me to part with a lot of money on one order. i don't know some of the ladies on here buy WHAT SEEMS LIKE every single set.. anyhoo... browse the challenge threads and you'll find a lot of non-SU submissions!

I've got a few SU sets, but mostly stamp with TAC stamps. You can see view a mosty TAC gallery at www.ashadeofblue.net. Others are welcome there, too, so it's not just TAC.
Anyway, I've also got some Hero Arts, River City, etc., but I mostly use TAC.

I don't have any SU products as I live in England and, as far as I know, they haven't graced our shores yet! I could buy them from eBay but the items I've seen so far are pretty expensive on there one you add on the postage.
Feel free to browse my gallery... I've used all sorts (usually cheap & cheerful as I love a bargain, lol)!

Never fear - SU is coming to England, I think it is in the next year.

I have over 500 Su stamp sets-BUT I also have Stamps from other companies too I just love this stuff. I love stampinup Colored Cardstock- Very High Quality. I don't like the wisper white cause is is not heavy enough. I love a card of substance and not floppy! I have all of stampinup stamp pads, but buy other companies as well- It is an Addiction you know! I am a Demo-but like most of us I am not exclusive and will never be-I also hate Stampinup's Angel Policy and feel all of us DEMOS should overwelm Stampinup with e-mails to change the Policy!

My best advice to find samples for companies other than SU!, is to search by the product or company name. Go to the gallery page, click search, <enter company name>.
There is a large portion of the samples on SCS that are from companies other than SU!, so you should feel right at home.
Hope that helps.

You can also check out The Angel Company (TAC) site. See the Creative Corner - there are new samples there every month. And you can also access past months too.
